I've probably driven by they small gathering park a few times and never noticed it. Not until recently when dining down the street at 8th street pizza did o see some holiday lights and a big sign that says "peppermint park". I guess during winter it takes on a seasonal alter ego. Anyways the sign and lights drew me in. So me and the family parked and Checked it out. Very tiny park that had some lovely decorations and even a small sculpture in it. So some nice views and a smattering of public art. I'm sure it makes a peaceful place for the workers downtown to enjoy a quick lunch break. Overall nice and unexpected find that now that I know it exists I'll keep an eye out for. They was just starting the seasonal deviations it appeared. So I'm also excited to see the full "peppermint park" once it is ready.

As I was walking the dog we came upon a large grassy area that gives respect to the hero's that made this country great. The main platform marker has four stones that surround a middle disc that gives props and pride to all those in all branches of the armed forces. "Lest we forget" the Korean War memorial 1950-1953 dedicated marker done in 1993. What a beautiful way to thank the soldiers that fought for our nation. The local hero's are even identified by name from the area. While I'm not familiar with these brave few they died for me and mine to be something greater. Although the traffic goes by we sit and wait and watch . What if we were not free? Too large questions . In the game of life I'm just a pawn with a dog that sits by my side and enjoys as the day passes. Come and see how life can be as you make your way free because of other's sacrifices.

Situated right across from brownsboro station shopping center my family and I noticed this small walking park with open spaces while dining across the street at noosh Noosh for lunch. It was me, my wife and our 4th born daughter who is one so after lunch we walked over tot his park. As mentioned it is wide open spaces with some beautiful trees and bushes spread out. They have a tiny mulched out walking trail that makes a circle through the park. Inside the park on the trail is a interesting bear statue. He is known as Rudy the bear to the locals. My one year old loved the open spaces, Rudy the bear and was mesmerized by the gigantic trees. Made for a cute and peaceful little walk and trip. I'm not from the neighborhood of windy hills but I imagine they host several community events and things here as it's a perfect spot for things like that. Very well upkept and pretty grounds too. Overall a cool and unexpected find whole out for lunch with some of the family. W enjoyed the scenery and hanging out with Rudy the bear for a bit.

Crossing over this path takes right to this spacious and easy trail. Overall you could say it's a scenic but the Ohio river isn't always the prettiest to stare at. But it is a nice relaxing area suitable for all ages.

The paintings and artistic liberties taken here are vibrant and amazing. Very cool place that also has several swings to sit down and relax and take in all the wonderful sights of NoCo. Overall extremely cool place. The whole NoCo area I'm excited for to see where it goes and how it grows. I've definitely found a new spot to take my kids and spend a day at.

I am very hesitant to review Lapping Park. Did you ever have your own secret spot you really enjoy…read moreand you don't want it spoiled by crowds? That's me and Lapping Park. Lapping Park is a very small in size facility. Nothing like some of the huge parks in Louisville. Lapping is heavily wooded and during the summer months provides a great shade canopy. Additionally, during the Fall, the colors are beautiful. For walkers, there are gravel paths and the majority are fairly flat which makes easy walking for senior citizens. We often pickup lunch at local restaurants and drive to Lapping to eat. It's a quiet, serene place. During the winter months restroom facilities are closed, but they do have a couple port-a-pots available. Additionally, there are a couple play areas with swing sets. The play areas aren't real large and I could see them getting crowded easily. Several picnic tables available, some under shelters. I might also mention, there's a 50/50 chance you'll see deer.

It is well maintained. Plenty of parking in numerous places to head to the area of the park that interest you. It is well lit, usually a fair amount of folks around so it feels safe to walk, hike or bike. Watch for deer in the woods. Coffee and food available right across the road on Newcut Road

On weekend mornings, there are plenty of runners, walkers, and bikers. Parking lots are big. My only wish would be for another bathroom at the park. The only one I know of is near the amphitheater which can be a long haul depending on where you're at in the park.
