If you are traveling and need something in a pinch, it's nice to be able to find it here. It is conveniently located at the heart of Queen Street near the Hungry Jack. Note: I went to Target first but couldn't find anything there (unlike in the US, Target here is mainly clothing). Therefore, I was very happy to find this pharmacy for "stuff" (not medication).

I opened the jar and noticed that the lid was a lot tighter than the last one, good I thought untill on opening the security seal came free on its own...I inquired as to the security of this product that seems comprised....The reply was it must be just the batch and that was that. No concern here. So my next transaction was some medicine with reg 24 on the script which means the all the repeats can be despensed at once. As i was visiting Maleny for a couple of weeks, I only required enough to cover my stay as I had plenty of my medicine back at home. The Chemist refused to supply the smaller choice, saying that was the rule. Wrong Mr Chemist.... Just google PBS 24 Reg. It shows that it is flexable. We argued... not pleasant. I had to get in touch with my dr who sent me a script omitting the reg24. Later I found the Amcal Chemist at the Riverside Centre next time.

The…read morelovely man who served me (the pharmacist I believe) showed me exactly what I needed and even said he hoped everything turned out well as I was leaving, sometimes it's these little touches when you're stressed that make you remember a certain shop and go back again and again. I have been to this pharmacy once before when in south bank so I knew that I would get the help I needed. Last time it was for a simple thing but this time I figured if they knew what they were on about last time, they'll know how to help now. If you're ever in need of anything from a chemist while in South Bank I'm sure you will find whatever your after here.

I use Queen Street Discount Chemist every time I need a prescription filled. Being in Queen St, it…read morehas a central location. The staff are a friendly, knowledgeable, and always have a smile. The service is very good. Last time I was there, they didn't have the item in stock. They got my phone number, and by that afternoon they rang me and said the item was available. The best thing though is the the word "discount". Just grab one of their business cards, and on top of their competitive price, they give you another 10% discount. How can you beat that? So, if you need anything from a chemist, give them a try. If they were open on weekends, they would have been rated 5 stars.

I am extremely disappointed in the service here. I put 3 garments in to be dry cleaned and was told…read morethey would definitely be back the next afternoon. My partner needed his suit for a business meeting the day after. I went down to collect my dry cleaning and the lady spent 15min looking for them to which I was then told they couldn't find them. They called the dry cleaning company who told them they hadn't been delivered and I was told they would arrive early the next morning. I asked why no one called me to tell me to which they did not answer me. I then had to pay twice the price to get another suit dry cleaned afterhours that night somewhere else so that my partner had it on time. I then went back the next afternoon to collect my dry cleaning and it still was not there. No one even bothered to call me AGAIN. I was told to come back once again later. When I came to collect them finally I told them how disappointed I was and that I had to pay twice the price elsewhere to get another suit dry cleaned because they did not delivered what was promised to which they still charged me full price. AVOID AT ALL COST! POOR SERVICE!

What's happening to Alderley Plaza at the moment is a real shame. Like pretty much everywhere else…read morein Brisbane, there is a big development earmarked for the site, and there's a fence up with an 'artists impression' of the urban utopia that will apparently arise with no fuss or complications for everyone. Unfortunately this fence (and the loss of important businesses like the Post Office and the butcher) means that pretty much everyone thinks it's closed and drives on by. Well, it's definitely not and one of the great little businesses that's struggling is the chemist. This little chemist shop is straight out of the 50's. It's definitely a mixed business, a wee destination shop where you pick up your prescription and then browse the shelves for a twee gift for grandma or a new body lotion. The products range from discounted brand name items like toilet paper and soap to fabric dye. So if you live in the area and you need to refill your pills, give this small business a tiny bit of love.

This is an exception - the staff in this chemist are really awful and particularly unfriendly. I shop often at Bilo which is in the complex but actively avoid using this chemist and drive elsewhere based on the horrible staff and poor, overpriced range. They also have an eftpos minimum which I find annoying in any shop.

If there was a competition for best shopping village in Brisbane, Princess Plaza would rank pretty…read morehighly. There are several things I look for in a shopping village. Firstly - convenience. The humble shopping village was created to save people from having to navigate through the chaos of a shopping centre. Therefore, it needs to stock a lot of those general items you may run out of in the course of a week. Princess Plaza has a newsagency, a bakery and an IGA. The only things missing from Princess Plaza is a fruit shop or a Coles Metro. Secondly, specialist shopping. In this complex, there's a florist, an Asian (Korean-centric) grocery store and a twenty four hour fitness centre. Thirdly- great restaurants. In this area, Princess Plaza excels. It is home to the famous Ben's Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant - the place where karaoke is still done in front of a drunken crowd instead of closeted into private rooms. There's also Lemongrass Thai, Hancock Korean, not to mention the Diana Plaza Hotel which houses, Regent Palace Chinese Restaurant and the Plaza Deck Bar and Bistro. The only downside to Princess Plaza is that they are zealous about reserving their car park for village users. Don't even think about parking if you intend to nip off elsewhere.
