My husband and I stayed in the Americana and Lazy River Cabin this past weekend and I miss it already. Very relaxing time with no worries from booking to check out. Beautiful location next to the river with very clean and updated cabins.

We loved our stay at the cabin! We can not wait to go back... The river was just so relaxing and the cabin so cozy... I have fond memories of waking up in the morning, drinking my coffee in front of the fireplace, moving to the porch as it warmed when the sun came up, and watching the ducks play in the river..

    View from our deck

We spent 3 nights at the Rocky River Cabin. This cabin was clean, well kept and fairly new! They weren't joking when we read it was right on the river. You could even fish from the deck, but would probably have to deal with a lot of tangles with the line. The French Broad River is beautiful and very relaxing at night, listening to the flow of the river. The deck was broad and expansive. We spent the majority of our time out there - eating, drinking, playing guitar, cards....you name it! Outdoor furniture was very comfortable. The cabin is equipped with a gas grill and gas fire pit too. There is also a place where you can build a fire outdoors, but we didn't do that. This place is small. It would sleep four with a pull out couch, but it would be cramped with four adults, especially because there is not a lot of room for luggage and such. It is a perfect accommodation for two people. Bed was very comfy as was living room furniture. Melissa and Brian are very nice and quick to respond to any questions or requests. Convenient to Asheville and many hiking trails. Highly recommended!

Excellent stay! Second time at Asheville Cottaged and we cannot say enough about the experience. They think of everything to make your experience top notch! We arrived and were feeling a little snacky. No problem! The snack tree and variety of waters/soft drinks/juiced beverages in the fridge were welcome! We browsed the binder for suggestions on where to grab dinner. After dinner at White Duck Taco, we stopped Ingles for a few groceries. Of course, Tracie and Marshall made sure each cottage had an Ingels savings card to use! Need a battery? Under the kitchen sink. Ziplock bag? Yep..,check a drawer in kitchen. They think of everything you may need and have it on hand for you! Loved the soaking tub! Loved the heated bathroom floor. Loved heated toilet seat. Accidentally hit a button on the bidet in the middle of the night and got a little surprise rinse off. . The big surprises were seeing a few bears late one afternoon behind the cottage (Magnolia). Thankfully, we just sat quietly on the deck and they looked at us and took off for the woods. Overall, it was a great trip and on the flight home, I started to look at availability to come back for a girls trip later in the Fall with my sister and niece. But before I could book anything, Hurricane Helene severely impacted the area. My heart breaks for all the families who lost loved ones in this disaster. By finding them on social media to see if they were ok, I found out that thankfully Asheville Cottages did not sustain much damage due to their location. Since Asheville tourism is essentially stopped, Tracie and Marshall have graciously opened their cottages to local families who have been displaced by the hurricane as they still have electricity and water. They also are still paying their employees salaries during this time (as they did during Covid) - taking care of them like family. THIS is exactly the kind of small business that my husband and I are proud to support so we will be staying at Asheville Cottages next time we come to Asheville...whenever that can happen.

It's perfectly decorated, cozy and the layout is very family-friendly or bachelorette/bachelor party-friendly with several huge communal areas. My kids went wild over the tree house bunk room and the master suite is incredible. We LOVED the view from the hot tub! There were LOTS of things I loved about the house, but I was really impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with quality items. I usually bring my own serving platters, knives, trash bags, paper towels, etc. and we never even had to unpack any of those items. The kitchen had everything you could need -- from a variety of coffee to ziploc bags to massive serving platters. The rest of the house was thoughtfully stocked too with things like laundry detergent, shampoo & conditioner, firewood, etc. Another feature that was hugely helpful was every thing was labeled in the house -- all of the remotes, switches, speaker system, wi-fi, etc. Lastly, Jay (the owner) is an incredible host. He had his phone number posted in several places so you can easily reach him and was a breeze to work with.

Let me start by saying that Jay, the owner of the 3 Upstream Way homes (Penthouse, Bachelorette,…read moreBohemian), is amazing. He has built a beautiful oasis of upscale, modern, cozy homes overlooking the French Broad River and the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. I highly encourage you to book 1-3 of his side by side homes (soon to be 4!) for your family, friends, celebration, etc. He spared no expensive in constructing and decorating the homes and it shows. I wish I could live full time in any of his houses. They have literally any amenity you could need and then some. No detail is too small for him to notice. We booked his 3 houses to hosts guests in lieu of an isolating hotel block for our wedding. Our friends were super excited- we planned to put friend groups together in different houses and it was going to be a reunion weekend for so many people! Sadly we had to cancel because of the pandemic- but that can't stop me from recommending Jay's accommodations. In addition to staying at one of the houses ourselves, we were going to hold the ceremony at the end of the road directly adjacent to the houses. Jay was incredibly generous with his time, giving us tours of the property, discussing modifications to fit our needs, figuring out bed arrangements to fit our guests, etc. We had several calls and meetings with him over the course of a year as we planned our wedding on his property. Of all the people we worked with over the course of planning the wedding, he was the one we felt the most confident about in terms of seeing our plans through. Such a friendly guy! He really care about making sure you have a great time during your stay. If you're just looking for a few days vacation in Asheville, it's the perfect spot. Great house, great location. Borrow his inner tubes and go for a ride down the French Broad River to the New Belgium Brewery. Relax in the hot tub. Enjoy the high quality, high tech amenities. Perfect for friends, families, anyone. If you're looking to plan something more than just a few days vacation- whether it be a wedding, corporate retreat, reunion, etc- this is the place. Jay will help with whatever you need to make your special event function smoothly. I truly can't recommend him enough. He's a gem.

The beds were comfy the tent was cute inside and everything was clean including the public bathhouse. I however did not use the porta potty because I don't use those but I'm sure it was clean. We came in the winter time and if your issue with camping is bugs then i suggest this is the time to go if you can bare the cold! Did not see a single insect which helped because I cannot do spiders Lol! Ended the long day coming back from snowboarding by easing down in the hot tub while watching the stars. Honestly stayed warm for 20 minutes after getting out of tub. Couldn't figure out how to use heat/ac unit so we used our own space heater we brought but theres a page in the binder about how to use it that I wish we saw. (our fault) Either way the blankets kept us plenty warm and the sun in the morning warmed us up too. Fun experience overall and did not dissapoint. Saw somewhere in a review I think about frozen pipes and prepared for that and I think they were frozen because no water came out of sink or shower. That was no problem for us though because we brought plenty of water bottles. Still recommend regardless because you don't get a shower camping usually anyways.
