I've quietly sat, read, and worked on assignments at this library many times. Too many times. I can't begin to calculate how many hours of my life have been spent here, reading and taking notes, wishing that whatever assignment I was doing would magically be over. It's a pretty standard library. The library is well stocked, and if they don't have what you're after, maybe they can request it from one of the other branches at Balwyn, Camberwell, Hawthorn or Kew. I've done that before, but I usually find it easier and faster just to drive to whatever branch has what I need. I guess the important thing is that it's nearly always had what I have needed, and it's a good quiet place to work if you find working at home distracting. read more

The staff are happy at Ashburton Library. It makes a difference, it means that I don't feel weird about staying too long in a comfy chair reading a book. I know that sounds strange, after all I'm allowed to be there, but I feel like I'm encroaching on someone's turf getting settled at a library. These guys work there every day, they don't need to see my mug neck-deep in a book for several hours when I could just as easily grab and go. Happy staff, tick. Good range of books, tick. Ashburton Library - Libraries Near Me - Ashburton, VIC

I've been here a few times to do a bit of research. They've got a decent catalogue of books, and in the past they've usually had what I've needed. One of the main reasons I've gone to this place is that phenomenon that occurs when you've got a uni assignment and you need a certain book, and all the copies of that book are out on loan at not only the uni library, but also the local library. This place isn't local to me at all, but it was also not local to any of the other students in my course, and they had what I needed on a number of occasions, so of course, everything worked out well. The library is pretty standard. It's quiet, there's a few places to sit and read, tables, chairs and so on. The staff are very much librarians, if you know what I mean. They're a fount of useful information if you're looking for a certain book. Other than that, I'd rather go to the Glen Waverley library as there's more places to grab refreshments there. But for what it is, I can recommend this place as being pretty good. read more
