This was my first time here I set an appointment online. The appointment was for my five year old to get a few cornrows which I was told would be $45 I also had to wash her hair before coming. No problem. I got to my appointment at 1:35 my braider told me my appointment was for 1 o'clock I specifically double checked my appointment to make sure it was at 1:30.My timeslot was for 90 minutes. Ashanti told me there is a $25 late fee lol and that there was another client coming at 2 o'clock so either way my daughter could not get her hair done. I've seen great styles that she's done on other people but that doesn't speak for the customer service. I came across this salon on yelp while I was in town for the week. I wanted a sew in so I called and set up an appointment for the next day. Ashanti herself answered the phone and told me she was available the next morning. I went and was greeting by the lady at the front desk. Everyone was very professional and quiet, which was nice, as it was pretty early in the morning. I didn't have to wait long (maybe 8 minutes), before Ashanti got on this head! Ashanti was very professional and polite and so was her staff. I had a great time there, and felt like I had the true "salon experience". I had an appointment with Ashanti and it was AMAZING!! I am natural so I'm always weary about where to go that won't damage my hair and she knows what she is doing!!! It was super easy to book online. She was on time waiting for me, Once I arrived we started right away at the wash station. I received a treatment trim and silk press. She used all natural products and took her time detangling my thick hair and had me walking out looking like a new woman. I was literally in and out. I feel as though I wasn't treated right at this shop. I went there in hopes of having my closure fixed, which was damaged by the person who initially installed it(I had no idea) I would also like to add that my braids underneath were too far back for the closure to properly be installed(had no idea about this either) All of this was told to me after I went back because I wasn't pleased with the outcome. I feel like I should have been told that there wasn't much that could have been done prior to her taking the closure off and putting it back on. It literally looks a tad bit better than it did before I came in. The issue that I'm having is the price of the services. $75 for her to take the closure off and put it back on and it look pretty much the same. I should have asked how much is was going to be before she started. Once it was time to pay, she asked the tech that did my hair how much she charged for the services. She actually asked her twice because she seemed caught off guard that Ashanti asked her.I feel as though the prices were inflated because she's trying to build clientele. So I paid and left, well I went back bot even 3 min later because I noticed that my closure was still lifting. The tech had to do some tricks and trades to get it half way decent after I went back.I regret paying for the services without having a set price before hand. I'm not upset because the tech did try her best to fix it, but when you know that there isn't much you can do then say that and be transparent. Don't charge someone $75 for a job that you know isn't going to be a great one. I even told her that I was upset that I paid $75 for my hair and it looks pretty much the same. She said what did you think I meant by the braid being too far back? Well I'm thinking that she can fix it because she never once said well there's only so much I can do. I don't know a lot about sew ins, so I trusted her to do closure over. After I went back that's when everything was explained to be about the closure being cut wrong and the braid underneath being too far back. To fix the issue she said I could use got to be to hold the closure down. As a client that paid $75 for the job to be done correctly, why should I need to use anymore product to hold the closure down, when that was the job that should have been done initially. So I'm upset about the outcome of my hair. I'm upset about the price of the services. I'm upset that I wasn't told upfront that there's only so much that can be done. I can't expect anyone to live by my standards, but I personally would have told the client that I can't fix the closure because of the braids being too far back and the closure being cut wrong. And I def wouldn't have charged someone that much money knowing that I couldn't do the job correctly. read more

Was an hour late, did not offer explanation, apology nor compensation for my time. Made me late for another appointment I had . She was not friendly. I specifically asked to have my hair braided using braiding hair so it would not frizz quickly and last longer and she braided my hair without it. Dissatisfied. Not considerate of your time and overcharged. Hair end result is mediocre. read more

I work for Movement Mortgage. I was in the mall to get lunch and I came across Ashanti's salon. I asked her if she did haircuts. She said yes and I was able to get an appointment after work. When I got there, my wait was no more than 5 minutes. Ashanti and her assistant, forgot her name, were both very nice and very friendly. She cut my hair EXACTLY like I wanted it cut and did an AMAZING job. I normally drive all the way to Philadelphia to get my haircut. I am so excited and thankful that she took the time with me today, I no longer have to take that drive. I will go to Ashanti and get my hair cut. She is amazing. read more
