Dr. Misra was picked by my obstetrician when I gave birth at Hoag Hospital 8 years ago since I didn't know how to even pick a good one. My obstetrician told me she was her pediatrician for her two children. I could never have been happier. She doesn't just focus on the child but the child and family's well being specially the mom and that's why I love her. We moved to LA 4 years ago and we tried two pediatricians here but they're not the same as Dr. Misra so I drive down to Newport Beach to see her. Even the staff at Dr. Misra understand how to deal with kids specially someone sensitive like mine. You can tell Dr. Misra loves the work she does and her patients. Where do I begin with Dr.Misra.. she practically saved me from my postpartum dDepression. Her thorough examination is one of the best quality that any doctor can have. I can't express how much I love her and her staff. Her staff would call me about my son and my daughters progress after I see them and they will follow up with me two days after and see how they're doing. Today we went into Dr. Misra's office for a regular check up and were greeted by a doctor covering for Dr. Misra in her absence, Dr. Cara Todd, MD. This is the second doctor I've met at Dr. Misra's office that was covering for her. This doctor was amazing! She treated my child as I would treat her...with love, care and affection! My daughter wasn't just another number in the office. This doctor took great care in her evaluation. She made sure that she played with my daughter so that my daughter was calm, comfortable and happy during the physical examination. Further, the nurses on staff at the office are always pleasant and helpful. Even during a very busy time, they always give you their full attention. Generally, doctor's office visits are so unpleasant but Dr. Misra's high standards ensures that you will always have a spectacular experience and most importantly, will be treated with respect and regard. Dr. Misra is wonderful. Very kind and caring, she takes time with you and answers all the questions you have. I never feel rushed. She will take the time to explain what's going on. Most importantly she listens and she respects your input as a parent. I've always been able to get same day appointments when necessary - a blessing when you have a sick child. I also really like her approach: it's pragmatic. She's not quick to rush with the antibiotics, but she's also not afraid to use antibiotics if necessary. She is very well balanced, in my opinion, between using all that Western Medicine has to offer, but not overmedicating and respecting the body as an amazing thing that doesn't always need medicine to heal itself. AND! her staff is EXCEPTIONAL. You can really tell that Dr. Misra's gentle and professional nature trickles down to her entire staff and it shows in how they treat her patients and families. I've been to many doctor's offices where the doctor is great, but the staff is terrible. That's a deal breaker for me. When I call to make an appointment or with a question, Dr. Misra's staff is always so polite and courteous. She talks fast and has an accent, so be alert when you go visit her! Not becasue she's rushing, but that's just the way she talks. I'm the same way, so I "get it", LOL. Dr. Misra is a wonderful pediatrician and we feel so lucky to have her. read more

You don't need any other Doctor for your child if you see Dr Misra. Dr Misra was there since my baby was born and she truly cares about my daughter's health and development and is very knowledgeable. She works very efficiently and her diagnosis is always right, fast and extremely effective. My daughter is four now. She is cold, curt, and never seems to know who we are. She regularly overcharges us and is very defensive when we bring these errors to her attention. It's very unfortunate that such an unpleasant person is the face of this medical practice. Additionally, when my kids come in for quick pre-scheduled vaccinations with the staff, Aria makes them wait for far too long. I really tried to like her, and we went back there a few times, but it just didn't work out. I was disappointed, because other people had clearly better experiences, but may be because we had switched from an amazing pediatrician who closed her practice, or because we ended up going when my 3yr was sick, as opposed to well child, but it just didn't work out. Office is older, but in this case it is also dingy, and doesn't look or feel clean. Trash cans are dirty. Walls are dirty. Tongue depressors are sitting out in the open. Staff is not friendly, rushed, doesn't know who you are. Keeps referring to me as 'Mom", in the conversation where I've told her my name multiple times, and she's holding my insurance card. I should note though, that Dr Misra herself seemed nice enough, and I think in a different environment she could be amazing. But, in a practice where you only see her for 5-10% of the time, the other 90% is important, and in this case, subpar. And I do mean 5-10%. I've been three times, and each time I waited about an hour past my appointment time, including the time my daughter had a fever of 103.8. That was the last time, and we switched doctors. read more

Dr. Misra has come through every time we've had non-ER emergencies. She's attentive and always thorough in her care. She even called us back on New Year's Eve to give directions over the phone when our son wouldn't stop crying. Now three kids later, she is still just as attentive and awesome with our other kids. We were new to SoCal and were hunting for new doc for my lil girl. We chose Misra as we though she could better understand the vaccinations completed in India and plan the remaining here. Went with yelp and glad we chose her. we saw so many locals at the doc's place saying good things about her while we waited to first meet her. She is very professional but always adds her personal touch in terms of caring for the kid, making every effort to make the kid comfortable during examinations. She is so patient and detailed in explaining every aspect of medical and behavior expectations. The medical staff are always courteous, prompt in following up, reminders before every appointment, follow up with insurance and billing were breeze. I never had any billing issues or delays. We are so happy that we chose her. We had to meet some other doctors in her office couple of times but they were equally good and made our visit a painless one. I can honestly say that even if I move out of OC and if its within a 100 mile radius, I would still bring my kid here for check ups. Also, she was never pushy about antibiotics or any other vaccinations as we prefer "try to avoid unnecessary medications", but she took time to explain and listened to us on our concerns and took the best option. she and her staff are doing a great job. read more

We are new to the area and have seen Dr Misra twice in the past 3 months. We were able to get the first appointment within two weeks of calling. I am so happy with Dr Misra. She does not speak down to me, and she explains the rationale of all of her recommendations with language that is accurate yet accessible. She speaks quickly (so keep up!) but you can always ask for clarification. She is highly empathic and sees each child as an individual (e.g. she gives me different advice for each of my sons based on their very different personalities). I appreciate that she sees my boys as distinct people with individual personalities and needs. This woman has a lot of knowledge, and you get the sense you are just skimming the surface of her vast experience during the visit. I like that because I can trust she is drawing from prior insights. The office is small but cozy, and my boys like it (there is a toy room). The nurses are polite and welcoming. I have called twice: on a weekday (I got through right away) and once on a weekend when they were closed (I left a message with a question and they returned the call Monday first thing with the answer). She was running late one time, but when she met with us she immediately explained that it was because a family with 2 children had an emergency that required her attention. She clearly appreciated the fact that our time was valuable and that she appreciated our patience. But most importantly, my boys seem to respond warmly to Dr M and to like her. read more
