By the time I arrived, my mother was cleaned, her hair was brushed, chapstick was put on her dry lips, and she was changed into fresh, clean clothing. When I walked into her room, she was resting and looked very comfortable and cozy in the bed. She looked more at peace than she had for many months prior. It was such a relief to know she was there and resting peacefully. When I arrived, I was greeted at the front desk and brought on a tour of the home. There was a beautiful kitchen where visitors could make a meal or eat if they chose to have food delivered. Coffee, tea, and a water cooler were provided, as was fresh fruit. There were rooms where visitors could take a break and unwind if needed. The room where my mother stayed was very clean, bright, and just lovely. It felt like a very welcoming home. There was everything you needed, and it overlooked a beautiful yard with gardens, benches, and bird feeders. The only thing better than the home was the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. They were all very compassionate, caring, and supportive. From the very start, they took exceptional care of my mother, checking on her often, but not in an intrusive way. They asked for detailed information about my mother and her family -- and really listened -- so they could relate/connect with her while she was in their care. They explained the way things worked and made sure to answer any questions we had. When my mother passed, the nurse and aides were very compassionate, understanding and empathetic. St. Luke's Hospice House makes what is a very sad situation much easier to get through. And, for that, I will be forever thankful.

I had made a promise to my Mother that I would not let her die alone. I know you guys would remember me I was the guy with the Cat on a leash . You have got to be such strong people I'm pretty strong myself but guys are on another level. I miss my mother as hard today as the day she died time hasn't been my friend. I've made some changes though I now have a very good relationship with my father that was nonexistent before.hes a wonderful man and I'm so glad I'm getting to know him. I don't know how you did it but you made me feel welcomed there in a big way . Some how you turned a tragedy into a something that was going to happen and I just needed to be there to see it through. I can't thank you enough

The first experience was pretty smooth because of my mother- law's mellow personality. She had Parkinson's which was a difficult disease to deal with physically. The caregivers were kind and respectful to her. We also trusted them in our home. More recently, my mother has gone through some quick changes with her mental capabilities after a serious operation. Physically, she does well and is very independent. Caring Connection has been extremely flexible with us scheduling hours and re arranging their caregivers to my mother's pickiness. She has been very difficult in not wanting to lose her independence. These kind people have visited my mom in a Sr. Community where she is in Independent Living. They are helping to keep her there. Wella, Barb, Jonathan, and Susan (social worker) have all been wonderful with giving my family guidance as we deal with this difficult situation. We tried other services in the past and none of them were as knowledgeable, flexible and most importantly caring to each individual needing the care. I highly recommend the Caring Connection. HH

The people in the office do nothing but lie to you, especially Connie. The equipment they use are so old and ancient and falling apart. I had to return a bedside table and a wheelchair because they were both missing wheels. The hospital bed doesn't rise as it should. They used to supply you with decent supplies and now they've turned everything over stuff they can. You are better off using a bounty paper towel then to use the chucks that they provide. I am back to have to strip my husband's bed every single day because the diapers they don't hold his urine.. They say they'll send you supplies but you never receive it. They say you can use respite every 30 days and then after the first time I used it when I wanted to use it again they told me I was abusing it and I'm not allowed to use it every 30 days. They don't care about the quality of care that they are giving their and it's sad considering.
