Ascol Bike is one of the many places for Bike hire in a Roman park ; it mainly sells pedal bikes, electric.. well you still have to pedal !!!
The bikes are very unsteady, they is no seat belt, other than to hold your things and the seats are very small and narrow, like on a bike and it is hard to sit on them, and very painful, especially when you are trying not to pedal, I don't like group pedalling as you have to do the same as the other person or it won't work and they was nowhere to put my legs.
The park is very bumpy with some pot holes, so it is very unpleasant to add to the seating situation.
I did break down twice, once near the man who was running the "shop" and the other, where I had to ask a few locals to give me a push, I do feel they shouldn't go down as easy like this, and simply be easier to use and more comfortable.
This experience has lots of potential and is a great idea for a pretty cool way to get around the park, but for 15 euros (1 hour). I want a vehicle that is comfortable, that is safe and in a park which means getting around is smooth and more pleasant.
The guy on the stall didn't speak perfect english, but he was nice and tried to help, the best he could, but still this experiance is really unpleasant and I wouldn't recommend it, so even though they is the one positive, in a certain member of staff here, I still can't think of any more reasons to warrant more than 1 star. read more
