I have been been taking lessons from Asaf for about 8 months now, starting with 1 lesson a week, then 2, then 3 a week for the past few months. I was a completely self-taught amateur player (mostly from YouTube videos) when I looked up beginner tennis lessons, and I was impressed with Asaf from day 1. He has a personable demeaner, intuitive teaching style, and the skills to back up everything he's saying. He teaches students from elementary school all the way up to the serious club level, and tailors lessons to every student. He's a big proponent of challenging the student to figure out any technical concept in a way that will best stick with you, whether it's the slow-to-fast swing speed, loading up on the legs, or visualization of spin on groundstrokes. Personally, I have gotten immensely better at tennis from when I've started, and am now reaching the 3.75-4.0 level. Moved to Austin recently and sign up for some beginner tennis lessons with Asaf. He's been super welcoming and has students with no experience like myself as well as those who've played for years. I've enjoyed working with him the past few months and think his patience, empathy and sense of humor are able to make practicing in 100+ degree weather actually enjoyable.
