Arux is a friendly, local cafe in Port de Pollenca offering a short menu of sandwiches, toasts, and homemade tapas in a simple, casual setting. The Pa Amb Oli was a local brown Majorcan bread rubbed with tomato and served with a choice of toppings. I got an order with Sobrasada, a local spreadable cured sausage with a salty flavor and chewy texture, which was paired with slices of Mahon cheese, olives, pickled herbs/peppers, and a ramekin of honey. All of the components of this toast went together nicely from the salty cheese to the spicy sausage, the sweet honey, and briny pickled vegetables. Another local specialty was the Pica Pica, made of chopped squid in a spicy tomato sauce, served with pieces of bread and fried potatoes on the side. Overall, the food here was simple, rustic, and homemade, and while there was nothing fancy about the dishes, everything was tasty and came at a good value too! read more
