First, I'm going through the trouble with the sincere hope that Ms. Ari REALLY reflects and learns…read morefrom this unfortunate experience. Props to her for having the courage to be ambitious and try to start her own business. I applaud the struggle for all people. However, any SUCCESSFUL business owner knows, the CUSTOMER is the boss!
The problems started with the business address. We couldn't find anywhere on her online profiles with the COMPLETE address, including SUITE #. OMW there we looked so that we'd know EXACTLY where to go. We struggled finding the building because the address signage was covered by overgrown vegetation, but eventually did. We looked at the building's directory, but her business wasn't listed. We called her twice, were sent to voicemail, and texted. Nothing! We went on a wild goose chase through the building and eventually found her "suite," a very generous use of the term.
I admit, I was frustrated and Ari detected it. She had the ignorance and audacity to say, "You're coming at me because I haven't been able to get the manager to put my name into the directory?" YES!!! That's your responsibility as a business owner, Ari. You pay rent and must demand that you get what you pay for! If you don't, you'll have more situations like this one and will struggle to grow your business. (Ari, what you SHOULD'VE said was, "I'm SOOOO sorry. I know it's a problem that I have to fix. How can I make it right?" Had you done this, I might have been able to look past the rest. But you got defensive and here we are.)
Anyway, she got all bent and said, "You're making me uncomfortable so I'm going to refund your deposit and you can leave." Refunding our deposit is the ONLY thing she did well.
Yeah, I took pictures and videos, but I'm not trying to shame anyone, so I won't post them. Suffice it to say that there was NOTHING "GLAM" about Ari or her spot. She was dressed in sweatpants, a grungy tank top, with her hair sort of put up in a bun. That's fine if you're doing your friend's hair at a house, but if you're trying to charge $120 for a hairdo, you have to work on YOUR appearance before you can convince me you can do something for my daughter's.
And then there's her "salon." It was just as sloppy as she was. Very unorganized. No aesthetics whatsoever. A real dump! To top it off, she threatened to call security, told me to f@#$-off, and slammed the door behind us as we left.
My teenage daughter was upset because she's worried about her hair for her event tonight, but I taught her that she shouldn't accept mediocrity or attitude from anyone, especially if you're paying for a service. We left and drove until we found a very nice lady that only charged $65 for hairdo. Idk how good of a job she'll do yet, but this lady's been in business for decades, so she must be doing things well enough. I attached her card because I believe in good vibes and supporting good, hard-working people, especially women!
Potential customers: Note that she only has three reviews besides this one. That doesn't bode well. Ari doesn't have more than three satisfied customers (or friends) to write reviews for her? Caveat emptor!
