I am such a baby when it comes to piercings (even though I have six piercings and 3 tattoos), but he was very nice about it. The piercer here was very emotionless and rude. Had pretty much zero customer service/people skills. Getting a piercing for some people can be a really big deal, and his complete lack of sociability kind of ruined the experience. He didn't give an option for which kind of stud to get, he just chose for us - and then didn't explain how to care for the piercing or take it out. When my friend asked him how to, he shamed her for not asking sooner. Very odd. I get that tattoo people and piercers have this rough edge and badass personality but that doesn't give them the right to be unsociable. Just yesterday a different group of friends mentioned how rude the piercer at Artistic Minds was to them, and I bet it was the same guy. read more

ENERGY IS WAY OFF. From out of town, stopped in to make an appointment for my wife and I to both get a tattoo to commemorate our tenth wedding anniversary. When the artist approached us to schedule his vibe was as if we were bothering him and in a rush. we settled on a date less than a week away, told him both pieces weren't going to be very big or elaborat, (this would have been my wife's first tattoo, I have several though) we had never heard of this place and they didnt offer a portfolio so I wasn't going to just offer up my whole left arm for a sleeve until I seen if the artist could actually do a decent job. (and yes I was looking to schedule for a sleeve as well.) When we told him what my wife wanted, he immediately interrupted and said I don't do couple tattoos, they will just end up coming back in wanting them covered up.. ummm after I let him know we had been married for 10 years, I told him if he didn't want to do it we would go somewhere that did and left. I should add that this wasn't a "couple tattoo" we weren't getting matching tattoos and what she wanted was a very personal piece that was small but meant a lot to her and would have been a great starter to see if she could handle getting ink. I didn't even get a chance to tell him they weren't matching tattoos or what I even wanted let alone that we both wanted 3 different pieces (the others would have been depending on how his work was) but apparently they don't like money here and their opinion of what you want on your own body is more important than that of your own or customer service. Maybe he just didn't think he was good enough to do the piece we asked for or maybe he thought he was too good to be doing small meaningful tattoos and thinks that he should leave his schedule open for walk ins looking for 30 hour back pieces lol idk either way we will not go there again and will wait until we get home to get what we want from Someone that believes in being professional and likes money. Hopefully his attitude doesnt represent the whole shop. read more

I've gotten my nose pierced here and there were no issues as well as my Medusa and still no issues. Just recently my girlfriend and I went in because we wanted to get our tattoos priced out. The guy at the counter referred us to another artist and he came up to the front. This particular artist wasn't paying attention to what we were saying at all it was sooo cringey to watch because my girlfriend had so many questions and he was being super short with her and kept giving her one worded answers. It was sort of like pulling teeth to get him to interact with us! He did not look up from his iPad during the encounter at all after a good 6 minutes of us trying to talk to him he pointed us in the direction of his portfolio which, I should say, was less than mediocre. In March I got my daith pierced and I have never had a piercing heal so well! Mike is incredibly focused and very through when explaining aftercare, he writes exactly everything you need from how often to clean to when it's a good time to change. I loved this place. I went here for my first tattoo and everyone was really cool and calm. Bring my first tattoo it was definitely pretty nerve racking and my tattoo artist Johnny was super friendly and talkative. Best of all he did a really dope job on the tattoo. He even dropped the price down 40$ due to not taking as. Long. I'm not from the Carbondale area but was visiting my sister at college and would recommend it to anyone who is in the area. 5 stars for sure. read more
