Food is the best I ate in Asia (24 years travelling around). Pizza? Wow... Lasagna? Delicious! All paired with great Italian Wine. Not to mention the "soundtrack"... it's like a cherry on a cake. A tip: try the carpaccio, tuna or beef? I can't chose... both best ever! So, if you are searching for an authentic italian restaurant, this is, no doubts, the best! These guys deserve a full time full restaurant. I was forgetting, accept the homemade lemoncelo they will offer you, so good! Thanks guys, I wish to have you as neighbors!

It is a small romantic place with incredible ambiance (simple yet elegant) and fresh Italian food! We had bruschetta, three types of homemade pasta (penne, spaghetti arribiata, and carbonara) and each was excellent and filling in its own right. This plus their red house wine and very quaint environment made for a very nice evening. To top things off the owner provided a complimentary limoncello. You must try this place! Don't leave Puerta Princesa without visiting same. You will be glad you did! Tom and Beverly

We got exceptional attentiveness with the quality dishes and delectable drinks and desserts. Not to mention the cute and clean interior. Coming to Eightynine Cafe with a tricycle was difficult because most locals couldn't find it, but since it's located on the main road of Rizal, it is easy to find without precise directions. Located next to a local hotel with tourists, this cafe is new and modern with brown wooden tables and chairs. Its homey feel is more catered to tourists and millennials. The food items they serve are innovative and fun from inspirations from various countries like Indonesian to French with a Filipino twist. It is the top pick for specialty coffee to food bloggers. I love their Spambol and its katsu-like take on spam. You think it's like a spamsilog, but it's definitely a special breaded spam. Everything has a beautiful but simple presentation. Ask for garlic rice if needed but it might be an additional $$ to the bill, though it was well worth it. I felt like I was in a local cozy Taiwanese cafe. The drinks are definitely a main thing to get in this cafe. The latte art is exceptional when they design it. Try all the special coffee like the Charcoal Latte or the Yuen Yueng. Wifi available. No CR. Go outside of the cafe to the hotel. There's no toilet paper so bring your own wipes. Cash only. Open decently late. Mangaon ta!

I dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 4:15pm). The place is massive but I grabbed a table near the front. Some of the tables have a bell/shaker that you can ring to get the waiters attention. Clever. The menu is long: all day breakfast, sizzlers, soup, meats, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, combo meals and drinks. - Avocado mango shake (110 PHP) - they charge an extra 20 PHP to mix two fruits. Decent but the avocado wasn't creamy. - Garlic rice (30 PHP) - they gave me plain rice instead. Lame. - Grilled squid (265 PHP large) - three option sizes (small is 215 PHP and medium is 245 PHP). Might as well go large! I didn't expect the inside squid rings to be stuffed with red onion, tomato and cucumber. Nice but it gets a bit boring after a few bites. The grilled squid was excellently cooked. Great texture and fresh. This is a place where you want to go with a large group so that you can try several things. The garlic crab (495 PHP) looked promising.

I wish they were open for lunch too, but this location is only open for dinner. It looks like Altrove Express, which is around the corner, may be open earlier, probably for lunch too but we had not ventured there for lunch. I enjoyed that it was a shoeless environment from the start. Their bathroom was broken on the day of our arrival but they were apologetic and accommodating in walking us to a clean bathroom at Atmosphere, apparently a bar owned by the same owner. I had no complaints as the bathroom there was clean and the waiter waited for me to return and walk me back a few buildings down back to the restaurant. We were happy with the salad and their margarita pizza that we ordered was enough for 2 people. We don't eat a lot portion wise, in general, but their portion size was perfect for us. We sat towards the back on their Thai style pillow chairs which was a nice touch to the restaurant and enjoyed the window seating minus the usual mosquitos throughout Palawan. Our servers were friendly and helpful. I found the restaurant to be very clean, as well. Their house wine was a nice compliment to our meal. I would definitely come back for their pizza. It was a nice touch as we were visiting from the US and missed having a variety of options to choose from.
