We would never purchase a home from Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Kensington Homes, because they don't honor their warranties or fix damage that they cause. Our neighbor said AR refused to honor AR's warranties on their home, and are "bad people". In addition, AR's construction vehicle across the street ran down our neighbor's mailbox, and AR refused to fix it, until our neighbor involved police with a witness, and the police report caused AR to fix it.
AR construction across the street made deep ruts in our parking strip from a heavy construction vehicle running over our grass. Despite being sent photos and videos of the tire track trajectory arc from their construction site traveling across our grass making deep ruts, and our security camera videos of all 17 different construction vehicles of multiple cement trucks, dump trucks, bobcats, and more vehicles coming the morning of the damage, AR refused to fix the ruts, because we didn't know which specific construction vehicle did it.
AR tried to pin it on the garbage or recycling pick-up trucks, but that excuse didn't work for AR, because our photos and videos showed the rut damage in the morning, and the videos of the garbage and recycling showed pick-up in the late afternoon.
Then AR claimed the parking strip was an easement and not our property, but that's not true, nor how easements work, and we're sure they know that; just another excuse.
When we inquired whether their crew would fix sprinklers that they might damage during rut repair, and if not, we could fix the sprinklers ourselves, AR refused again to fix the ruts.
We became responsible to fix the ruts caused by them, and have saved all photos, videos, and emails.
AR's 3 homes constructed across the street this year had no internet, because AR construction had not put in the infrastructure, so the buyers and internet company were not happy needing to put in infrastructure after the homes were built, resulting in unneeded delays without internet, and install under driveways and around landscaping.
AR will make up any excuse to weasel out of accountability rather than being a good builder or neighbor and taking care of their problems. Our own builder willingly honored our builder's warranties, so we know better builders exist, and we suggest avoiding AR construction. read more
