We have been very pleased with our experience so far at Cumberland Gymnastics! My daughter and son…read moreboth participated in a summer camp, which gave them an opportunity to experience the various tumbling and specialty skills (balance beam, bars, etc) one would expect to practice more in a regular class. We've since enrolled my daughter (age four) in regular weekly classes, and she loves it! The instructors are patient with the kids, and the practice skills each night are tailored to kids developmentally, which takes the pressure of needing to perform off the littlest kids. As students get older, there's definitely more focus on skills, and it's neat to see the older kids practicing off to the side - and you can see the growth happen week to week! They have two areas for families to sit when they watch their kids in class, with a few chairs downstairs and a couple sets of bleachers upstairs. Be warned - it can get really hot in the summer, and there's no backing to the bleachers upstairs, which can get a little bit uncomfortable. But there are worse things in life!

The other gyms my daughter was in would never do this. During the pandemic I donated money to both Wilson School of Gymnastics and Highlanders Gymnastics. Both are excellent! Cumberland uses very young teenagers to coach. None of the other gyms do this. They also do not have adequate spotting especially for advance skills. The gym my daughter is at now has 4 male gymnastics coaches who are experienced at coaching and spotting. Not cheap but the owners understand the liability and sincerely care about safety. Cumberland's Parking lot is not adequate for their business and the township should investigate them. Dangerous for the children. The owner's focus is money and not children. She asked me what my husband did when I paid ahead. I use that incident when I speak on women empowerment. Because I made my own money and do not depend on my husband for support. My recommendation is to try Wilson School of Gymnastics which is a little North of Chambersburg on Route 11. Completely renovated and the head coach knows how to motivated children. We no longer live in the area or we would still be at that gym.

My daughter danced at MGM from age five through high school. She grew and learned, became part of…read morethe competition dance troupe. MGM fueled her passion for dance. She learned teamwork, benefited from hard work, and she learned how to handle healthy criticism. She went on to dance competitively in college, and is now back at MGM as a teacher. She made life friends there, both with other dancers and with the fabulous women who taught her. Dance is a great activity for children, and MGM is a great place for them to learn and grow without feeling the intense pressure other studios provide.
