I told them this is not legal and they ignored me. I told them to cancel the transaction, they refused. And while I have no expectation as tourist in another country that the sales people speak English, the sales person was able to speak English while helping me shop. She conveniently stopped speaking English when I showed her my receipt with the statement that I was given the option between US dollars and euros (which I was not given). Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere in Toledo.

I thought a hand painted fan would be something she'd like. And this was the place to go. I was pleasantly surprised by the price range. I bought two fans on the mid-high end, but I really like them. I skipped the specially designed stands because at 100€ a piece, I can't afford the stand to cost more than the fan. The service in the store was good. They were pleasant, but a little abrupt. It could have been the language barrier. So I won't really fault them. Other items including Paraguas (umbrellas) can be found here. Definitely worth at least a look in the Windows if only to admire the handiwork.

She said we did not want jewelry from the bottom shelf, which was for tourists, but from the top shelf, which was handmade 24 carat gold. We bought a pendant for $250 EU, a matching bracelet for $650 EU, and matching earrings. Also a Muela knife for $83 EU. The total charge on Visa was $1018.50 EU. When we returned to the US our jeweler of 60 years told us the jewelry was nothing but gold plated costume jewelry. I mailed the jewelry back for a refund with a long letter. The merchant did not bother to pick up the package from Spanish customs. They told the Visa investigator they told us it was costume jewelry and that is why the price was so low! We were bilked out of over $900 EU by this merchant. William S. Hardman, Attorney at Law, Gainesville, GA USA
