We were on vacation and visited this cigar shop and the woman was extremely rude and overbearing! We were there to select a few cigars and she wanted to give us a history of cigars which we were not interested in at the time. It was a very unpleasant experience and unacceptable. I brought a friend who might be interested in beginning the pipe hobby and asked if they had a corncob pipe, an excellent option for someone straddling the fence. We were both in our neon construction regalia and I suppose this lady presumed us too déclassé and lacked the means to patronize her uninhabited shop. She was snotty and told us repeatedly that she had pipes, but they were hand picked by her (whatever that means) and they were $200-300, her attitude insinuating that we couldn't afford to shop there. I told her that I was considering a Savinelli pipe and her response was, "They're nice, but they are expensive", again doubling down with the attitude. A truly impressive presentation. read more

I live in New Jersey and discovered Art of Cigars about 12 years ago when I was visiting my mom in Melbourne, FL. I ran out of pipe tobacco and needed to find a place where I could purchase some really nice cherry flavored tobacco without Latakia tobacco mixed in. I met Wendy, who ran this fine shop, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about just what I was looking for. I took a few 2 oz. packets of tobaccos with me.....and since then, every year without fail, I've called Wendy up and ordered a pound of "Washington Cherrytime" (the best cherry tobacco I've ever smoked!) I've been to Art of Cigar a handful of times now. The staff is really nice and very accommodating. The location is very easy to get to, right on the corner of Seminole Rd. and Atlantic Blvd at the light. I have not found many good cigar shops (not bars) at the beach. I highly recommend Art of Cigars to any tobacco enthusiast. The cigar selection is plentiful and unique. I was recently recommended a Perdomo 23 by the staff, and it instantly became one of my favorites. They also have all of the standard brands - Fuentes, Romeo y Julieta, Macanudo, Montecristo, etc. There wooden pipe selection is high-end, but the tobacco they sell is very aromatic. The owner talked down to me the entire time when I tried to shop for cigars. Then she said "Have you ever heard of a Maduro?" I said, "Yes, it is a shade of wrapper." She replied, "No, it's a leaf." She acted like she knew a lot, but didn't know what Maduro means. She made me feel very uncomfortable. I bought several cigars, which in retrospect, was a mistake. I come from New Jersey, and one day I was driving through Florida when I ran out of tobacco. So I searched my GPS and found Art of Cigars. I'm a pipe smoker, and I was searching for a nice cherry tobacco that did not have a "bite" -- normally caused by the addition of Latakia tobacco blended in. Wendi, the proprietor, knew exactly what I meant and she patiently checked through the formulas of her different cherry blends -- finding me one of the nicest cherry flavored tobaccos ever....Washington CherryTime. Each year (maybe 8 of them so far?) I call and re-order a pound of this tobacco, and I can honestly testify that Wendi has never been anything but the most helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable person I've had the pleasure of dealing with.
