OH my goodness, I just had the worst experience at this flower shop! One of our church staff members lost her dad, so on Sunday evening I placed an online order with Art Lan Florist. The order that I placed was the Enduring Grace Arrangement which was red glads, white mums, and red roses. The arrangement was 90.00 I chose this because it was showy and represented flowers from a large church staff and our pastor and wife. The viewing was 1-2:00pm, and the service at 2:00 that next day! When our friends returned home to GA. they had taken a picture of the flowers, and much to my surprise it looked nothing like the arrangement. The arrangement was 2 white magnolia flowers, and 2 amirilis flowers. The arrangement turned out to be a Christmas silk arrangement with a few Christmas greens and a bulb. The pot was Christmas decorative with a plaid bow in it.
I called the shop on Wednesday Dec 20th and tried to ask the lady why the flowers were so different. I told her that I really didn't order a Christmas arrangement I ordered a showy funeral arrangement. She first said they didn't carry those type of flowers and I told her I had a picture of it. I asked her if she would look up the order. She looked it up and said she had done it and what had happened was the flowers were ordered late and by the time they got the order the funeral home demanded the flowers right away. I told her I had sent the order the night before online, and having owned a flower shop before I know that you just go to your computer and get the order. She tried to tell me it doesn't work that way. When I told her I knew the flower business she became very defensive, and tried to argue with me that I didn't know what I was saying. I asked her what flower shop does not have flowers to make up an arrangement for a funeral? She said there was no time so she grabbed a Christmas silk arrangement. I did tell her if I wanted a silk arrangement I would've ordered a Christmas silk arrangement. She became very obnoxious and the next thing she hung up on me. I tried to call the shop back to talk to the manager and of course they wouldn't answer the phone. This is a very shoddy business that would treat a customer this way. I am not a complaining person all I wanted to know was why we got a silk arrangement that looked nothing like what I ordered. It was so embarrassing. This was not a happy time for celebrating Christmas it was time of bereavement. I do intend to call the shop back until I speak to the manager. I know we would never hang up on our customers unless we had felt threatened or cursed at, which was never done. When I asked for the manager, the phone slammed. I went by the ratings, and felt I chose a good shop close to the funeral home. I guess I was wrong. I hope to get this matter settled. read more
