Yoga is often disrupted by simultaneous fitness classes going on in the studio in the next room over that you can hear through the wall. Sometimes there are only 15 minutes between classes and it's hard to maneuver around the people coming/going and you feel really rushed. Please space out your classes better throughout the day. No waiting area so everyone is just crammed in the lobby. Really odd class times and nothing in the morning except for a 6am option... what kind of a yoga doesn't have a 9am option? Some good teachers, some not so great. It's nice during the summer, but when the students are in town it's kinda unbearable. Lavender towels after a hot class are their best feature. Unfortunately there aren't any decent yoga studios in town so this is your best bet.

When we arrived the director Heidi greeted us by name, she was delightful and informative. We felt that she really cared about our experience at La Petite, and giving us as much information as she could about their facility. We enrolled our 3 yr old in the toddler class, as well as our 8 yr old in the after school program. Their first day we got updates about their progress via email- which is a great touch! Heidi and her staff are attentive, kind, fun and I would recommend to anyone.

It has been 4 months since my first Pilates session at Dulak Pilates. I have always wanted to try…read moreit for years now and finally I said to myself its now or never. I chose Dulak Pilates because of its well known reputation in town as having the best instructors and a wonderful studio. Kelly is a stellar instructor. There isnt enough adjectives to describe how marvelous she is. She pushes me out of my comfort zone and believe I can do more than I thought I could. My body and mind is changing for the better. After just a few sessions with Kelly, I began to trust in her guidance completely. I feel exhilarated by the challenges in every session. Kelly is a body reader. She has the ability to sense if my muscles is working or not. If it doesn't (sometimes due to me not working hard enough) she would find ways to modify the exercise so I can feel the muscles Im supposed to be working on. She would often modify the exercise to fit my petite frame or my strained neck muscles. I learn to not short change myself and just tell her if I don't feel the mind-body connection working. I also learn that I better do it right and not cheat so she doesnt make me redo them (ahem the hug, the one hundred, the teasers, the elephant, the obliques twist and reach). Im pretty sure they will never get easier. Pilates always have a way to make one feel very humble. After a session a week with Kelly, I feel everything! every small intrinsic muscles has been fine tuned (my triceps, biceps, the abs to the obliques to the inner thighs and the glutes to even the back of the legs). I drive an hour once a week to Dulak Pilates Center to take my lesson. I might hate the drive but I have never ever regret a pilates session with Kelly. I walk out of the studio glad that I came, glad I gave it my all and glad that Kelly is my instructor who help me to strengthen not only my powerhouse but also my mental toughness. When I thought I couldn't hold my power house or squeeze my inner thighs any longer, Kelly would tell me to do it one more time. Thank you Kelly for teaching me that my body and mind are limitless and that I am capable of exceeding my own limit. Thank you for educating me about the biomechanics of human movement, and the importance of taking care of the body especially the core, the spine and all the joints. Thank you Kelly for your patience with me and for your passion for teaching. I recommend taking classes from Dulak Pilates Center because of their high quality instructors. I can attest that not only Kelly has a comprehensive educational training but she has also put in countless hours and energy to become a competent qualified teacher. Pilates is all about the integration and coordination of mind, body and spirit. Try it for yourself! You will fall in love with it like I did! The studio is running an offer for Saturday morning reformer classes for only $30 per class!!!. My only regret is that I wish I had taken Pilates sooner when I used to live in town! I would so go every day.

The teacher (Jenkins) was not aware her student had escaped because she did not count her students (it is reported this is a frequent oversight.) It has been reported to me last week that the school ran out of both cups and spoons and the children were not able to drink and had to eat with their hands. ORIGINAL REVIEW: (I've had 5 children attend this facility over the course of 6 years.) Recently it has gotten entirely out of hand. This facility sent an email to employees to come to work at a certain time but if they aren't needed in a classroom they must wait in the teachers lounge unpaid (which is illegal.) They reportedly have a teacher who has had multiple sexual harassment complaints from other teachers and was seen making vulgar sexual gestures around children with baby toys and calling other employees "tits" in front of other children. This employee has not cleared a background check and is allowed to work regardless. Reportedly, They refused to pay a teacher maternity leave and when she threatened to sue she was not allowed to return to work. Another teacher reportedly has had multiple DCFS investigations against her after multiple children from her classroom have had hair line fractures in their arm and gone home complaining of pain. A teacher reportedly locked a small child in the bathroom with the lights off as a punishment for not wanting to go to the potty (they were 2ish years old.) This facility is not operating legally and should be reported to the Illinois department of labor.

I am a Blue Belt and I train Gracie JiuJitsu at KiCK Martial Arts in Kansas City. I had been away…read morefrom home for a week and ended up in Champaign, IL desperate for a JiuJitsu roll. CU Jiu Jitsu was NOT the only gym that I called, but they WERE the one who called me back! Coach Mike was super nice and welcomed me to come in and take a FREE trial class even though it was obvious I was not going to sign-up, and he even refused to allow me to pay for the class à la carte. Thank you, CU Jiu Jitsu! My experience was great! I was the odd man out as this gym focuses on sport jiujitsu whereas Gracie Jiujitsu is much more focused on the Self Defense aspect of Jiujitsu. At the time I only had the Gracie Combatives belt, which is an intermediate belt before Blue, earned before being introduced to rolling. Many of the students at CU Jiu Jitsu were curious about my odd-looking belt, and I was honored to tell them all about Gracie Jiu Jitsu, but this review is not about that. My visit to CU Jiu Jitsu happened towards the end of the pandemic and vaccinations were plentiful. The school continued to follow best practices limiting access to the facility and scanning temperatures upon entry. The head instructor, Professor James, greeted me. He was nice and welcoming. With paperwork behind us and a quick tour of the facility, away I went to the locker rooms. The locker room has showers and plenty of lockers. Don't forget to bring shower shoes so you don't contaminate the mats! The warm-up started on time. I think there were 12-15 people in the JiuJitsu class, with many of them staying for the wrestling class afterward. The warm-up was typical grappling school type of warm-up, but the instructor did have it written on a board and announced a goal of completing it in X minutes which added a nice challenge to it. After that, a couple of techniques were demonstrated and drilled. The class had many colored belts in it from Black to white. After the technique portion, we squeezed in a couple rounds of rolling. Thank you to my partners Kenny (Blue belt) and Coach Fabio (Brown Belt). This was my first time cross-training at another gym/school. I highly recommend it, and I recommend you checking out CU Jiu Jitsu if you are in the area. Thank you to all the Instructors and students who made my experience enjoyable and welcoming! Feedback: We cannot all be perfect all the time. This is constructive feedback and by no means do I have any grievance. With that said, I'm not sure how kid friendly the adult classes are. One student's children were doing what kids do. They were addressed as "{student}'s kids get off the rolled-up mats!" But I don't think the kids were used to being addressed that way, nor did they pickup on the fact that THEY were the ones playing on the rolled-up mats. So the command was shouted out a few more times before they got the hint. It was just a brief distraction that may have been unnecessary or handled differently.
