Art in Motion is hands down one of the best tattoo shops I've ever stepped into. The shop itself is immaculate, clean, sterile, and extremely well maintained while still having a ton of personality and character. You can tell immediately that the artists here take both their craft and their environment seriously. Every artist in the shop is phenomenal. Just looking through their portfolios makes it clear how talented and versatile the team is. There's a level of artistry here that really stands out. I was lucky enough to be referred to this shop, specifically to Shelly, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is beyond amazing, a truly talented artist with exceptional skill. I came in with a tattoo from 18 years ago that had been haunting me for a long time. It was a large, poorly done tattoo with blown out Olde English lettering, and I wanted it covered. I gave Shelly creative control and trusted her to design something that would truly transform it. She did not disappoint. What she created is nothing short of incredible. You cannot even tell that it is a cover up. She transformed something I hated into a true piece of art that I am proud to wear. Her vision, technique, and attention to detail are outstanding. Worst customer service EVER! I called 3 times and left a message on their voicemail twice and one time I left a message with a live human for Shelly as I was looking to get for several tattoo's. No one returned my calls in over a month! Unsure how they are even still in business. Shelly did two amazing tattoos back in 2012 for me so I was planning on going back to her for the 8 more that I wanted. They gave me no choice than to take my money elsewhere. Well, where do I start. I guess I will start with the fact that I cannot speak for their work or how good they are. This is more of a review on their customer service, which is non-existent! First, I went through all artist portfolio's to find the right artist for what I was trying to accomplish. Because it was late at night, I sent an email to respective artist. (Which was available on their home page as a point of contact for each artist.) I waited 2 days, no call, no text, no response via reply to my email. Thought she must be really busy, so I email the owner thinking I would for sure get a reply by phone, text or email but to my disappointment, he did not respond. So I gave it a few days and called this time. First I asked for the artist I originally tried to contact but the girl that answered the phone said she wasn't there and that I would have to get with her (the artist) to schedule a consult. I also mentioned that I had emailed her and the owner and her response to me was "oh, yeah, they don't ever check those emails." So I said "Ok, can I speak with the owner?". Apparently he was indisposed. And then I was reminded that I would have to speak with him to schedule a consult. Sooooooo, the best I could was leave my name, phone number and a short message to pass along. Alas, STILL nothing!!!! I just cant believe the owner didn't even get back in touch with me. So if I cant get a response by email, and no one will call me back, and no one will text, and no one will take your phone call, and the front desk cant schedule any appointments/consults........HOW IN THE F*** IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO GET AHOLD OF ANYONE TO DO ANYTHING THERE!!! Bottom line, I had money to spend in this studio! Money is not even a question for me when I want the best the profession has to offer, in all areas!!!!! Including customer service, follow up and follow through. Art In Motion-What a big disappointment! I cannot rant and rave enough about Art in Motion. The shop is small, clean, and has extremely friendly staff. I recommend Shelly. She is super friendly, works with your ideas and actually listens to you and does phenomenal work. She has now done all three of my tattoos after completely redoing my side piece. Art In Motion is by far one of the best shops in Colorado Springs. It is neat, always smells clean, the staff is friendly and it's a no hassle environment. So far, I have been tattooed by Don and he has done a phenomenal job. He's not afraid to take risks but will also let you know what will and won't work as far as a tattoo goes. Their prices are fair and to be honest; you get what you pay for. Shelly has been tattooing my wife and her work is also some of the best I have ever seen. Don and Shelly are awesome! They don't currently have piercings. Extremely clean and professional. It's a really great place that and they are extremely passionate about their craft. I won't go anywhere else, unless Shelly leaves for some crazy crazy reason. Store hours are a little short but they are accommodating. I personally hope only serious people come in to see them, no stupid tattoos but that's just me lol, also they usually they are about a month out on scheduling. read more

I've had ink done in many states across the country, by some outstanding artists. It wasn't until I came to Art In Motion that I finally understood what really good tattoos look like and now I will only have Don do my work. The shop is always clean, never crowded or noisy with people lounging around. Don and Shelly are amazing artists and great people. Prices are good. FYI there is no actual piercer there. "We haven't had one for three years" was the response I got when I arrived.

Mark did a very poor job with my tattoo. He is very sloppy and does not pay attention to what you ask, he just does what he wants. I got a very simple, small, easy tattoo with no detail whatsoever. The tattoo is 7 inches long 1 inch wide. Mark took his sweet ass time and charged me $265 for it. I was not happy about this and feel really ripped off because it should not have taken him as long as it did. His scam to get more money out of me. To make things worst the ink started to literally peel off after about a week and looked super faded out like an old tattoo. I contacted him and let him know what was happening so he agreed to have me come in for my first touch up. When he was done with the touch up he proceeded to tell me what my charge was. I was confused since he at no point told me that there was a charge for my touch up. I have been to many tattoo shops in the past and have always had touch up included within the first year. Not to mention he was fixing his own shit work and fuck up. I can not speak for the other artist they are probably great. I have heard nothing but good things about Don and Shelly's work. Unfortunately, they were booked for moths out and I made the mistake of giving Mark a try because I wanted to get in sooner. I will not be coming back. read more
