Here in Colorado for a bachelor party and decided we would get some tattoos from the local place to go! Loved the customer service and quality attentiveness that they provided. It's great vibe, great music selection and a plethora of talented artist! I would highly recommend booking an appointment or walking in!

I did my research in Colorado Springs for a new tattoo shop and read a lot of good things about this place. I'm very picky with where I get my tattoos because I always want the best. I found Jamie Faith who just does amazing artwork for her tattoos and set up an appointment to go see her for my next appointment. She was pretty booked up but this was a good sign to me as it showed she was very popular. I got a flower piece done on my left upper shoulder/arm that took a couple of sessions. The results were absolutely beautiful and I am so happy I found Jamie for this tattoo as she killed it. Please go see Jamie Faith for your next tattoo! She is incredible and you will not be disappointed.

I was on a trip with a few people and we all decided to stop in to each get our own unique tattoo. We were there when they first opened and were paired with a really great artist, Liv. She was funny, but got right down to business. She listened to our ideas and gave some suggestions to enhance the design, without changing the core of it. I brought in a little octopus line drawing and she gave it more personality. The studio itself was also very clean and inviting, and the other staff we interacted with were personable. Would recommend!

    Spaceship tattoo by Hannah

I love this place... I got my first tattoo here the day I turned 18 (in September) and have already gone back for another! My first artist was Hannah, she was so nice and welcoming, such an amazing person! I came in with a drawing I did of a spaceship beaming up a chicken, and she made it so much cooler. It was super quick and the experience made me want to come back! So I did! I just went back and got a tattoo from Zack. While waiting for my appointment with Hannah in September, I wandered around and found Zack's book of tattoos and saw a really incredible bee tattoo. And I knew I would eventually get a bee tattoo since my nickname is B! Now I have an incredible bee tattoo of my own! I love it so much!!! And Zack was so fun to sit with. He was cheerful, friendly, and funny which helped my mind get of the pain of a tattoo. And the environment of the whole shop is amazing! Everyone's exited about everyone's work, and everyone's having a fun time. I'm definitely sticking with this shop, I can't wait to get another tattoo from these guys!

This is a tattoo of a lighthouse in the style of American traditional from West side tattoo in Colorado Springs.

I thought I posted a review the other day but now I can't find it so I wanted to make sure that West Side Tattoo and Clayton get the credit for my awesome tattoo that I'm so happy with. Clayton told me that he specialized in American traditional tattoos and I didn't even know that's what I wanted but I definitely did because when I showed him a picture of what I wanted and told him about the modifications he came up with the ultimate tattoo that I have on my arm now. I am so happy with it and I would definitely go back to him when I'm in Colorado Springs again. If you're looking for American traditional definitely go to Clayton. He is really friendly and funny and he listens and he makes great suggestions and is it true artist.

Odi's work on my left hand. Tribute to a lost friend.

Looked up their reviews, and their website, and they looked to have the most talented staff in Colorado Springs. I was not disappointed. Odi did a piece for my friend who passed earlier this year, and it's perfect. Highly recommend.

My father passed away from cancer earlier this year and I wanted to get a portrait tattoo to remember him by. Little did I know when looking at local tattoo shops that I would stumble upon one of the best portrait artists in the world! Melek's artistry is absolutely incredible. But what makes her work unique, is that she incorporates additional elements that have a special meaning for you. So you don't get "just a portrait." This was actually my first tattoo, and I was pretty nervous about the process. Not only because it was my first, but because of the subject matter. Melek was patient, kind, and understanding. She answered all my questions and put together a killer tattoo. What sealed the deal for me was the incorporation of a Fred Flintstone and baby Spider-Man. She came up with the idea from an old Halloween photo of me and my dad. It was the perfect thing that made the tattoo particularly special for me. Everyone at the shop was super friendly. They are one big family over there and are super talented artists (not just Melek). Anyone looking for a quality tattoo, look no further. West Side will have someone that will make it happen.

Clayton did an amazing job on my recent tattoo. The shop as a whole is so friendly and inviting. I think the most noteworthy besides the actual art they are creating is how absolutely spotless the entire shop is/was. They were attentive in making sure you get what you want and we're up front in pricing. I highly recommend making this your new fav tattoo shop in the springs! Can't wait for another piece!

(Pic is the fresh tattoo, I'm a week and a half into healing) Was recommended Sabrina by co-workers who had beautiful work done by her. This is my first tattoo and a memorial tattoo, and I couldn't be more impressed. She took all the references I gave her for my concept and put them together beautifully. Did a great job conversing with me on what to expect with my first time too. Everyone I spoke to over the phone and via email was so professional and kind, and the cleanliness was near perfect. Definitely willing to go back.

Came in yesterday for my appointment with Juan, and he freaking killed it. My tattoo is in a pretty sensitive area (my inner arm, ouch) but he worked fast and was super friendly. I felt super comfortable, and I'm really happy with the tattoo I got. I'll definitely be going back.

Heart mountain/beach scene tattoo on my friend. Tattoo by D2. Serenity tattoo not done at this shop. Took 30 min.

I was super nervous about getting my first tattoo and the whole process seemed so intimidating to me. I decided to check out West Side after a friend recommended them. I'm so happy I did! They have a very laid back vibe compared to some of the other shops in town and everyone was helpful throughout the process. I started following some of the artists on Instagram to get a feel for their work and who I'd like to go with. I eventually decided to go with Drake aka D2 because of his colorful pieces and clean lines. I called the shop to get more info about how to book an appointment for myself and a friend who was going to be visiting from out of state. The guy who works the front desk (I think his name is John?) was especially helpful and made me feel comfortable when I called the first time and stopped in later that day for my consultation. I can honestly say that John's attitude and helpfulness were one of the biggest reasons I decided to go with West Side. Some of the other shops in town seem bothered or annoyed when you call to ask questions. Maybe it's because it's just another day at the office to them, whereas it's a big deal to the customer. Anyway, yay John! D2 looked at the designs we wanted and gave us an estimate. We put down a deposit and booked an appointment for a month later when my friend would be visiting. It was a little nerve wracking waiting til the day of our appointment to see what D2 had drawn up, but when he showed us his work when we arrived we were more than satisfied! Now I know not to worry for next time haha. D2 worked fast and got my tattoo done in an hour and my friend's done in 30 min. I was comfortable the whole time and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't really even hurt either. I would highly recommend West Side Tattoo for anyone looking to get a tattoo in the Springs! They made my first tattoo experience a memorable one.

We (my husband and I) went to Colorado Springs on vacation, and planned in advance to get tattoos at West Side. The whole process was really easy, and professional. Before I get to my two-star review, in all fairness, the place was super clean and I was really impressed with their customer service. Also, my husband got a monster tattoo, which he was really happy with, while I just got a simple small tattoo on my ankle. Regardless of his experience, I feel like although my tattoo was small, it should be just as important (especially since it was actually really meaningful to me). I say this because I feel like the artist took my tattoo as a joke. He and the artist in the slot next to him were laughing about how it would only take 30 seconds, and how it was SO easy. Spoiler alert: he f-ed it up. First, it was on the inside of my ankle and I was kind of shocked because he didn't have me remove my shoe or my ankle sock (I have one in the exact same place on the opposite foot, and the other tattoo artist did this). Next, he placed the stencil while I was standing on blocks, which also seemed a little weird to me. Now, I don't like when people question me at my job, so I should say I didn't not say anything. The tattoo was extremely quick - as joked about, but man is it screwed up. (Frankly, I didn't know it was even possible to screw it up that bad.) After it was done, I immediately felt like something was wrong. The line on one side was blurred and noticeably thicker than the line on the other side. I asked (nicely) about the imperfection, and the artist claimed it was part of the stencil that remained on the skin. I showed my husband, who also questioned why it looked like that. Apparently, after I left my husband also asked the artist about why it looked so bad, and he reiterated that it was just a part of the stencil that remained on the skin under the clear bandage that was applied. Well, it's been two weeks and it's still straight f-ed up. I'm actually pretty pissed about it. I was extremely chill when I was in the shop because I do understand that a small tattoo is rather insignificant compared to the masterpieces that these artists create, but in hindsight I wish I had stuck up for myself....maybe there could have been some damage control. Instead, now I'm stuck with this busted tattoo, and have to find someone local (we live in Illinois) to fix what I had done in Colorado. I'm writing this review so that if anyone else is not from town and in the market for a tattoo, they do their due diligence and make sure they pick the right artist or go to another shop. I don't want to include the artist's name because I'm not a Richard, but be wary.

I sat three times on my thigh (2hrs each time) and also had him do a rib tattoo for me. Every time he was professional, cool, and easy going. He's great at his job and incorporated everything I wanted into my thigh tattoo. Pro tip: they offer numbing cream. You can buy it by the tube or (if you're super cool) they will just apply some to your body before the tattoo for free. Cream has to go on and sit for about half an hour before the tattoo gets started so let them know ahead of time that you want it and you're going to show up early for it. After you get done getting poked, head to the joint right down the street and grab a super delicious taco! (Nom!) There are some things I wish they'd change. I loved that they had such an open space in their studio; fluid space, no big walls for the most part. I love the feeling of community, however, it also leaves you pretty exposed to anyone who walks past their large sun drenched windows and anyone who happens to walk in the front door. If you're in the middle of getting inked and your shorts are pulled really high or your shirt is pulled up, everyone will see it. Not so fun. Either way, they get a raving five stars from me.
