Although Leysieffer bars ain't no Lindt, SPRÜNGLI, Teuscher, Godiva wannabee. Nope. Leysieffer bars are possibly the most original, differently well crafted chocolate bars I've had. How did I discover this place? German friends bringing these treats to LA. Leysieffer has been around since 1909. It is the primo source for classic German chocolate. Leysieffer is uber amazing chocolate in a different way and they take chocolate to another level. If you like bold flavors and bold chocolate up to 90% dark cocoa, unencumbered, come here. After you've had a bite you know there is a notable palate awakening quality that Leysieffer imparts to your chocoholic sensibilities. But wait that's not all, my favorite and amazing chocolate bars at Leysieffer are paired with things like Cardamom, Early Grey, Elderberry so good and unique. Fassbender & Rausch down the street is also really good chocolaterie but I find their products to be more museum type stuff, the flavors at Leysieffer however, are better evolved and crafted for the serious chocoholic.
