I am reviewing only the framing part of the business. I came here for some framing on a couple of recent purchases. One small, one large with frayed paper edging. Both screen print style art, they came unframed but I didn't want them to just be stuck up like posters. I took them in to Port Art to get an idea of what could be done. I was nervous about the frayed one as I had a real set picture in mind of how I wanted it to look even though it was untraditional with no boarding on the edges. The selection of frames here are really nice and because the framer is also an artist, she's very particular about how she wants the final product to look. A lot of time and care was taken to pick the right boarding and frame that we liked. Framing is not a cheap exercise but I think they are well priced here. Originally for the smaller piece, we looked at the cost (almost the same as the large piece) and wondered if we would have better off saving our pennies and trying to make it work in a pre-made frame. But once we got the end result we were 100% happy that we didn't. Both turned out beautifully and I couldn't be happier with them, especially the large one. They were also taken care to be framed in a way that would last, while allowing us to change them if our tastes change down the track.

Took a concert poster there to be framed, but end result wasn't what I expected. The poster has…read morebeen either glued or taped with an adhesive to a board and is mounted giving a 3D pop-out effect, so therefore the print is ruined as this cannot be reversed. The overall effect is cheap and tacky. I did request museum glass which I assumed I would get, but museum glass is not reflective and the glass I got is super reflective. It's almost a mirror. Yep, as you could imagine this place gets 1 star for not delivering what I asked for and ruining a print that is worth hundreds of dollars.

After searching and testing the waters with a couple of competitors, I found Magic Picture Framing (MPF) to be not only knowledgeable but flexible - they have the ability to use fresh timber for some extremely valuable parchments i have from overseas but also have recommended some nice framing using other materials which were not only spot on from a design perspective , but also quite reasonable from a cost perspective. If you are looking for great prints, this is the place to come - i found some amazing bally prints as well as 'my fav', Audrey Hepburn! As i decorate, i know i will return to MPF in the future!!

He quoted me 'around $350" Finally after I paid another $100 on Account he picked it up. After 37 visits to his shop as well as countless reminders when I was him at Gattica or/and Lava and received assurances... it's been over four years and no return, no finished product, and no refund. Impossible to conduct a meaningful full conversation with him. Arrogant, irresponsible, and with no sense of Integrity or responsibility.I have now instructed a lawyer at considerable costs to recover the collage.

All manner of art and craft supplies inside, with friendly staff who know what they're talking about. The prices march the quality, and every now and again a sale will have the place crawling with crafty types.
