I arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday night. The ticket guy was very nice and the place was very nice, There was a couple on the balcony fooling around and I had the place to my self otherwise, however. The video was old, and not even good. The worst part it was full of confederate flags. As a brown guy I was super put off by this. I mean, I'm, not sure if it was intentional or not as one of the staff was a young black guy. My wife and I made our first visit to The Art Cinema yesterday - a Saturday night in mid-January. We were very favorably impressed. Absolutely great staff - professional, friendly, helpful, proactively went out of their way to show us around and make sure we were comfortable. We weren't sure what to expect and we were very pleasantly surprised. We thought the place was exceptionally well run. It was clean and well maintained. Security both outside and inside - reassuring, but we didn't feel a need for it. A neat old theater - a unique experience. We won't comment on the activities themselves. Just wow. It was all happening - watch, participate, ignore - your choice. This night there were couples coming and going, with perhaps 5-8 couples upstairs at any one time. Let me observe there are definitely two different "environments" - the upstairs couples only area, and the downstairs singles area. The couples area is relaxed - one would be comfortable just enjoying the experience with their partner, watching or being watched, or engaging with other people, as they like. The night we were there, there was a little bit of everything. Our experience was that everyone was respectful and personable. The downstairs area was a bit edgy. Nothing "bad", just edgy - apparently exactly as people want it to be - or maybe it just felt that way to us because it isn't our thing. This is the place where the single men hang waiting for women or couples to come down and be the center of attention...and we saw a few women who wanted a whole lot of attention. The Art Cinema was my husband and myself's first visit to an adult theatre, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The theatre is old and has probably seen better years, but it appears to be well maintained by a staff that is also welcoming and friendly. So I read the reviews on this place from another website and decided to make a trip down to see the talent there . And low and behold there were 6 couples in the balcony area upstairs. As for singles ur only allowed to downstairs area .
