During our call, he assured us that Ductz wasn't one of those companies that advertise a low price and then surprise customers with unexpected add-ons. We had only minor mold in our attic noted during inspection, and Terry confirmed that using Microbiocidin would be unnecessary and excessive for our situation.When the technicians arrived, they asked what needed to be done--which immediately concerned me. I had to ask if they had a work order to follow. After completing the air duct vacuuming, they casually mentioned that a "chemical smell" would fade in about 15-30 minutes. I was shocked--why was there a chemical smell at all? They had sprayed the ducts with chemicals, exactly what Terry told us would not be done.Within minutes, my nose started burning. I had to take my cats and step outside for fresh air. I called the company and spoke with Andy, who tried to reassure me that the chemicals were safe because "hospitals use them." That was not comforting--especially when the odor was so strong we couldn't stay inside our own home.The technicians themselves admitted that the smell was unusually strong because half of our heating system is radiant, meaning they used the same amount of product in half the usual airspace. One of them even said it could take 2-3 days for the smell to dissipate--completely different from the 15-30 minutes I was told earlier.Despite leaving windows open all day and night, my daughter coughed throughout the night from the lingering fumes. The experience was awful from start to finish.  I was also surprised that the technicians still planned to clean the dryer vent, even though I had confirmed with Terry during our phone call that this service wasn't necessary and should not be included on our invoice.  I would not recommend Ductz of NE Metro St. Paul to anyone--especially if you or your family have any chemical sensitivities or respiratory concerns.

They are reasonably priced, very knowledgeable and have a lot of integrity. They sent Richard and Jacob out to clean our ducts and those guys were awesome. They really went the extra mile to clean the furnace, and dryer and our ducts. They even pointed out a few problems they saw with our furnace so we were aware of it. If I could, I would give them 10 stars.

They charged her 30 dollars extra to clean a spot that needed extra attention. The guy didn't even put effort in to clean the spot in the living room, you can still see the spot the same as it was before he came out. The carpet after he left was so wet you could see puddles from your foot prints. They also advertise an offer of 10% off for seniors and he did not give her this even when she asked about it while he was writing up the invoice with her. Worst of all he opened her refrigerator without asking and tried to take a canned drink for himself and when my grandma said something about it and told him to get out of there he said "I need something to drink" and was rude about her not having a beverage for him after she offered him a glass of water and he said no to it. Absolutely awful experience and do not recommend giving this company any of your hard earned money.

Not a pleasant experience from start to finish…read more Originally set an appointment for Friday between 2pm and 4pm. I know this was made for Friday because when I was on the phone making the appointment I remember them repeating back Thursday, saying "you mean Friday, right?" and them agreeing. I also told them we have 4 rooms to do and buy their 5 room package (one of our rooms is ~400 sq ft, and they cap a "room" as being 200 sq feet max, so that one counts as two). I mention we have a hallway connecting the rooms and they say they'll go ahead and do that too (two of our rooms are ~100 sq ft). I get called Wednesday and am told they'll be out on Thursday. I again say it was for Friday and am told they aren't available Friday. I'm not happy but agree since I just want to get this done. I get another call Thursday morning asking if we can move the appointment up to be sooner. We call back and leave a message saying we can do it after noon. I get called again an hour later and confirm we can do it between noon and 1pm. I'm told the cleaner will call ahead with the time they'll arrive. I get a call at 12:10pm from the cleaner asking me why I'm not home and that they've been waiting at my house for 10 minutes. There was no call telling me they were on their way or that they were going to arrive right at noon so I was running an errand. They sound very frustrated as though this was my fault for wasting their time. We have pets, and one of the main reasons for this cleaning to to take out pet and urine smells. Their website says they will deodorize your carpets and they list pet odor and urine stain removal as part of their service. When I arrive I find out the treatment for urine is an additional $0.36 sq. ft, which more than doubles the cost of the service. They do not list this or price this anywhere on their website, so I guess you only find out when they're already at your house. On top of that they charge an additional $15 for the hallway that I'd been told they'd just take care of, and the cleaner acts annoyed that I'm asking and trying to understand why the service has doubled in cost. They do pet odor and urine stain removal, but urine odor costs double, something that was mentioned by nobody and is not on their website anywhere. Their website explicitly states they have no extra or hidden fees. Not my experience. I received a call a few hours after asking how things went. The moment I started telling them the issues I had their tone changed and they couldn't get off the call fast enough. I would not recommend this company.
