Clothes toys shoes and many other things you can shop around or just sit and people watch for a few hours. There is a nice amphitheater that may hold cool events. Also this strip mall hosts a great photo gallery with changing artists that I recommend very much as leisure activity.

Apart from a few 'promos', there's not much that can justify the 'outlet' label, but it certainly is a nice mall with a bunch of brands and some cafés. It's really well decorated, and when I visited (Friday evening) it wasn't crowded at all, which was a pleasant surprise. Pets are not allowed in, probably to preserve the cleanliness of the place. I'm not sure how popular this mall is when it's hot and sunny, or windy and rainy, but it's nice to have some variety in the city malls. There probably aren't a lot of great deals, but it's a nice place to spend a couple of hours. The architecture is really nice, and it seems quiet and safe. The San Martín 'Palermo' station is right next to it.

    San Telmo

Another super-cute Buenos Aires design boutique, Cualquier Verdura has much more than its humble…read morefront door would suggest! It's located in the touristy San Telmo area, so if you come here for the weekend market (as we did), make a side trip to this quirky and charming store. The shop consists of a series of connected rooms that open onto a small courtyard, and the idea is that each one is themed like a different room in a house, with inventory to match. So there's a "kitchen" with vintage Pyrex and novelty kitchen tools, a "living room" with records, small-press books and self-published zines, and so on. As you browse, you'll find colorful vintage housewares and gadgets, hand-crafted Etsy-type gifts (I loved the miniature knitted cactus soft sculptures), stationery, gag gifts, vintage clothing, and plenty of dishes and glassware. My boyfriend really enjoyed the sexy-lady toothbrushes in the bathroom. Beyond the themed rooms, it's not particularly organized, which makes it more of a treasure hunt. Take your time looking at the shelves, cases, and tables overflowing with crazy STUFF. Prices are pretty reasonable (or, you know, vintage reasonable) and there's tons of cute items for truly unique souvenirs and gifts for the folks back home. Plus, of course, it's Instagram heaven if you want to make everybody jealous of your cool shopping trip! If the endless stalls of the San Telmo market are giving you tourist fatigue, duck into Cualquier Verdura, soak up the hipster goodness, and fill a bag with cute handmade and vintage gifts instead.

And in every…read morecountry I need to find something really unique that will forever remind me of this trip. And Violraviol is my souvenir of Buenos Aires: colorful, bold, yet playful and even a bit kitschy. I was wandering around Palermo (the Hollywood part) and then I detected this cute little shop. As a gay man I was right away attracted to the flowery aprons in the window and so I went inside to have a look at what other fabulous things they'd sell here. My eyes then caught the attention of a set of napkins in different designs...and I right away knew that this would be looking wonderful on my kitchen table. Gorgeous, darling...just gorgeous! Funnily enough, a couple months later I'm exchanging travel stories with a person I was having drinks with and when we came to talk about Buenos Aires, we soon discovered that we'd both been shopping at Violraviol...turns out, she was bold enough to buy that apron! The moral: be bold, colourful, playful and even dare to be kitchy!

Violraviol is an absolutely adorable shop in Palermo full of pretty table runners, napkins, aprons,…read moredish towels, coasters and the like. All are handmade using textiles that are local to Argentina. The owners are so sweet and when I came in recently looking for something travel-friendly they showed me to a striped bag that folds up small. Perfect! I've now been using it regularly on the road. Violraviol is a pleasant place to pick up a special gift from Buenos Aires for yourself or a loved one. And if your travel plans aren't taking you to Argentina anytime soon, they have an Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/VIOLRAVIOL
