I definitely did not expect to find the best Thai food I've had to date in Madrid! (Of course, I haven't been to Thailand yet so I expect that statement will become false once I do.)
The Tom Yum soup here is wonderfully hot and balanced between the spicy and sour components, and the curries they offer here are incredibly rich and creamy. The amount of coconut milk they put into the curries is just enough so that the whole dish is still savory and spicy, but there is a pleasantly sweet aftertaste to each bite.
Each dish is served in some beautifully crafted plates, and the restaurant itself looks like it's designed to be a classy location to take someone out for a date. On the night my friends and I tried it, we had just come straight from San Sebastian so we felt woefully under dressed for the atmosphere.
This restaurant was also the first instance in which my friends and I experienced the practice of restaurants giving away free shots of liquor after dinner. Supposedly, this is to aid with digestion, and we certainly weren't complaining! I forget what the name of the liquor they gave us was called, but it was sickeningly sweet. I didn't mind it, but a few of my friends weren't fans. It s a good thing to remember if you don't like sweet liquors and you're deciding whether to take the free shot or not.
Fantastic Thai dinner experience in Spain. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more
