This restaurant is more about its famous owner than the food. Antonio Banderas, a native of Málaga,…read moreis rumored to own the restaurant and live in the condominium adjacent to its patio dining area. People come in the hope of sighting this celebrity, crowding the restaurant at all hours and overwhelming its staff. Our server pointed us to a QR code on the cocktail menu so we could look up what's on offer. This menu gave ONLY the names of the dishes on offer, WITHOUT any description of the dish or its sides. Nor did the server have the time to describe them to us. Service was a 2, at best, while the food was a 3. If you're looking for good food and good service, there are plenty of other options in Málaga. If you choose a place to eat on the off chance you will see a movie star, this is the place for you.

I walked past this place on June 29, 2026 and it was bustling with activity. It looks like a very…read moregood authentic place for very good Spanish food. The place is actually very nice on the inside with barrels of liquor and old bullfighting posters. I was seated upstairs and tended to by a waiter with glasses who took me to my table threw the menu down and without saying a word walked away. Right off the back he had a bad attitude and didn't explain that you need to scan the QR code to see the food menu. I don't know if he heard me speaking English. I had never seen this guy before entering this restaurant. After a long while he returned to my table and asked if I would like something to drink. After reviewing the drink menu I asked if they carry sherry (Jerez). There was no sherry listed on the menu? This set him off and he went on a rant about how I need to be more specific because there is various sherries. Yes, I am very familiar with the various types of sherry but made a simple statement that none are listed on the drink menu!?! I'm thinking, the hell with the sherry and his atitude just bring me a glass of verdejoI never raised my voice or anything, but he did, as if I'm a problem. He takes his time returning to my table to take my order, but finally does. Okay, at this point I'm noticing everyone around me that came after me was being served their food!?! I don't know if he purposely put in my order late? Nothing I ordered needed to be cooked. I ordered cheese, bread, olives, and jamon. After waiting long while, I flag him down to see if there is some sort of problem in the kitchen. He answers me with a bad attitude and walked away still talking in this huge dining area where everyone is talking. There was no way I was going to be able to hear what he was saying as he answered walking away. Okay, once again I am waiting and now I am starting to become a little angry because obviously he has a problem with me. So once again I flag him down and let him know that he is walking away from me as he answers my questions therefore I cannot understand anything he is saying. Well this time he said that locals talk fast which is why I can't understand him! Little did he know that I am very fluent in Spanish and have never had a problem understanding anyone speaking to me in Spanish!?! At this point, I started to see red and began to raise my voice and create a seen because he insulted me and blamed me for not understanding him. This person (OP. Isidro) should not be working in any restaurant insulting people he has never met before. At this point, I just wanted the bill to pay and leave. As a result, I cannot recommend anyone stopping by this place and having the same experience that I had.

The moments we spent at Boomerang--with the lovely Gill and Esther--outshined them all. We visited four times in two days (the 7th and 8th of August, pre- and post-dinner) and loved every minute. Both the plaza and Gill's space are charming and praiseworthy. The drinks (and snacks!) were delicious and inexpensive. And the company of these two ladies?? In a word: wonderful! We weren't just welcomed, we were embraced (literally and figuratively), and the nights we spent at Boomerang are what good memories are made of. I'm hoping we have the chance to make many more memories with these lovely ladies... Do yourself a favor and visit Boomerang. You'll surely enjoy the space, the drinks, and the company as much as we did!

Lo and behold - La Vida De La Gente across the road. We went there at 20:00 and were told that while we could have cocktails, food was only available from 20:30 onward - Spanish tradition. We had a Pornstar Martini and a Piña Colada, and promptly got some sweet extras like watermelon etc. for free. Next thing we know, we order two more cocktails (a coconut mojito and a cosmopolitan), which were equally delicious. The tapas we ended up ordering were surreal. LVDLG focuses on Asian-inspired tapas: we had the goat cheese lollipop (2), yakitori meatballs (4), the oriental burger (1), Japanese fried rice, shrimp in teriyaki sauce (10) and a selection of meats. All of these tapas were fresh, delicious and well executed. Generous portions, piping hot. Our waiter was great, bringing around extra bread and free shots, plus explaining what everything was. The place has only been open for two months but it is truly one of the better establishments we have come across in Malaga. Very sleek, very clean, quiet and cosy. A lovely vibe in general. For less than 60€, we enjoyed four cocktails, a bottle of water, four tapas and two 'mains' - great value. They are very generous with the alcohol in cocktails, for only 6€ each. Tapas are 3-4€ each, mains 8-9. All in all, excellent value for money. The bill is brought in a cut-out book, which we found adorable. LVDLG is a gem. Next time we visit Malaga, we'll make sure to visit again, although we are sure it won't quite be as quiet anymore. These guys deserve all the custom they can get, a truly wonderful place.
