Advocare as a company possibly goes "code crazy" and charges very high prices. For example, a…read moreconsultation visit for my son to get a second opinion on an ear infection was $751.00 + $300.00 for testing. This visit was completed in 10 minutes (Morristown location - same company, same billing) and an external ENT stated one of the tests cannot be considered accurate in children less than 2 years. As a second example, the Advocare MD office in Mt. Olive charged $151.00 for an eye "examination". In reality, the very polite physician glanced at my eye quickly, and prescribed me antibiotics even though I had already tried two other brands. A week later an eye specialist removed a piece of foreign debris....bill from Advocare to insurance = $151.00, bill from eye specialist to insurance = $53.00. As a third example, a third Advocare location tacked on additional codes during a routine physical. They admitted fault for this and removed the additional code. In a medical world where patients are taken advantage of, we are subject to price gouging in the whole model of "office bills insurance, insurance adjusts, consumer gets final bill". The higher the initial bill to insurance, the worse it is for the consumer - Advocare hides behind this and likes to say "Well what we bill to insurance is not what you pay"....this statement is correct, but what they bill insurance is correlated to what we ultimately pay. Advocare office managers do not like their customers asking about prices, and justify their prices by saying "this is the price model Advocare has implemented", with no further comments made. Some of their office managers are rude and take personal offense to price questions, even though they are subject to the same health system. On a positive note, the physicians have been polite to work with, but the pricing and belittlement from office management is not worth it. Buyer beware, there are many more options for better healthcare in NJ.

She gave him a lollipop and complimented how well behaved he was while his brother was being seen. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit was deeply upsetting. After the audiologist completed testing on my toddler, I heard Dr. Immerman say, "Okay, mom..." from the hallway and I genuinely thought she was speaking to someone else. It felt dismissive and unprofessional from the start. Once she finally entered the room, she told me my child did not pass his hearing test in one ear but said it was too early to tell what that meant. She offered either waiting three months to re-test or scheduling more extensive audiology testing, assuming by my expression that I would want the latter. I agreed, as I was understandably concerned and didn't know what to think. When I asked basic questions any parent would ask, including whether this could mean hearing loss, she brushed them off as me jumping ahead and he's only 18 months so it's too soon to tell. She never once reviewed the audiology report with me or explained the results in any meaningful way. I left with no clarity, no reassurance, and a great deal of anxiety. I had to call after the fact to ask for the audiology report so that I could have second and third opinions. She also specifically told me she did not see any fluid and that this was NOT a fluid issue. Fast forward to today, at the follow up audiology appointment, I was clearly told that my child's left eardrum is flat, which is indicative of fluid behind the ear. This information should have been explained from the start. Instead, I spent weeks unnecessarily worried that something far more serious was going on. When it comes to young children, parents deserve clear communication, thorough explanations, and compassion. Especially in an area majority of us are not experts in! That was not my experience here. I would NOT recommend Dr. Immerman for pediatric ENT care.

They will then bill you, and even if you make monthly payments, will send your bill to collections without giving final notice. The head biller, Ellen, is very condescending and mocked me for making such low monthly payments. The practice manager is incredibly rude and does not follow proper billing procedures. The doctors are truly money hungry, and the entire practice lacks common decency and a moral compass. Ultimately, I paid over $700 to be told by Dr. Immerman that she does not know why I have a chronic runny nose. Her and her staff truly take advantage of the billing system set in place by insurance companies. Many people have had the same issue with this practice - just read the many other 1 and 2 star reviews. Be careful if you go here. I learned a lot from this experience and will continue to share with others what an awful practice this is.

I was told that I have a notch out at 4kHz and was recommended to purchase the protective custom ear plugs that comes with 2 types of plugs but you can trade them out at any time. I purchased them and got fitted with the molds. It took about 3-4 weeks to receive them which was expected. I tried them on and were great! After getting home and using them more during my music gigs I found that they were a little too good at making things quiet so I called to swap out the 2 plugs I had for less-intense ones. I called 9 times over the course of 2.5 months, left voice messages, and tried to get in touch with them. The audiologist was absent and impossible to get a hold of once I spent $360+ on plugs. I was even waiting for them to bill it through my insurance. When I finally did get to talk to the audiologist who sold me the ear protection he assured me he will order the new plugs and that they are working to bill the insurance. I followed up a month and a half AFTER that last conversation and was told the same song and dance yet nothing was getting done about this and after 4 months of failed attempts at communicating with them, I filed a chargeback claim with my credit card to which they never responded or disputed so I got my money back. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS. I was lead on and then tossed aside after they got my business. There are far better places that will not treat you this way you can go to.
