To be avoided at all costs. I phoned around to get a quote for servicing my Honda Civic, and AC Western Road were the cheapest by almost £70. Then you find out why. As far as I'm aware, the actual service was carried out fine, but I got a phone call after the car had been in a couple of hours from one of the 'mechanics'. He informed me there was a problem with the rear brakes, which 'may' be able to get fixed under warranty, but otherwise it would cost me £245+VAT. He was 'surprised' the the pads would be slightly seized onto the discs, as was I since I informed him my mpg figures had never been better, at which point he laughed nervously. The guy just didn't seem sincere and it didn't add up, so I told him to leave it since I suspected that they would do the work, not even bother contacting Honda and I would be left with the bill even though there was clearly nothing wrong with the car. I drive coaches all over Scotland and know a thing or two about vehicles, only put my car in there to get serviced so I could get a honda stamp on the service book, but they appeared to be trying to play me like a fool. I phoned a friend to ask for advice, and amazingly, he had put his car into the same dealership (but different franchise) in Western Road 2 years previously. The toyota garage (which is right next door) phoned HIM telling him there was a problem with, surprise surprise, HIS REAR BRAKES! He said they were fine, and took his car to another garage to get them checked out, who said they were fine. 2 years later, his car is driving on the same 'problem discs', as AC Western Road put it. When I got my car back, surprise surprise, it wasn't even mentioned on the advisory note! They managed to put down about the 'streaky window wipers' but couldn't think to mention the 'serious problem with the rear brakes', as this guy had put it to me. The reason for this is because if I had taken the car to another garage in order to get this problem fixed, they would have told me the rear brakes were fine and I would have had a paper record of Arnold Clark Western Road Kilmarnock trying to defraud me out of £245+VAT. The brakes are working perfectly. Believe nothing these shysters tell you. I'll never be taking any car to any branch of Arnold Clark from now on. read more

stay away,, my girls car had a electrical problem..only place i could go told me the water pump was leaking onto the wiring loom so i would need a new pump, new fuse box,, loom repair £550 a new loom fuse box& pump £2200 found out later if the pump was leaking the water is no were near the wiring and when i got the car back the free health check says the spare tyre was flat (ok) three months later no garages after i got round to checking the spare just to find out it was not my tyre it was old, bald and ripped on one side read more
