The cardiology team is very good. They've been attentive, helpful and prevented me from having any real heart issues.

William S. Haaz is an arrogant, pompous physician and should learn compassion and sensitivity when…read moredealing with his patients. My cardiovascular system is far too vital to my well-being for me to be subjected to the treatment that I experienced with Haaz. I recently had an in office appointment with Haaz. This was my first and last time that I saw him. He recommended that I have several cardiovascular studies conducted, which I had performed. To my surprise, Haaz informed me that I needed a cardiac catherization. This was most disturbing news to hear since I was not experiencing any cardiovascular symptoms and never had. I told Haaz that I had several questions. Several days later, he called me and rudely and abruptly told me that he "would only answer my questions once and only once." When answering my questions, he was abrupt and gave belittling and nasty responses. Throughout the conversation, he took the offensive and made me feel uncomfortable and treated me as if I did not have the right to question his medical knowledge. I find such behavior to be totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I had pertinent, reasonable medical questions concerning the catheterization procedure and my cardiovascular system. Having a cardiac catherization is a very significant medical procedure, and I have a right to have my questions answered in a professional manner rather than to be made to feel as though I should accept whatever a medical provider tells me without questioning whether it is right for me. Haaz failed to realize that medical care is not a one-size fits all approach. All patients and situations are unique. Furthermore, health care providers should always listen to the patient so he can understand the fears and/or concerns so he can take action to alleviate. It is unrealistic to think patients are going to blindly follow whatever a doctor says without having some sort of confidence that the procedure is needed, and he is the best person to perform the procedure. Haaz grossly failed to do so. He also failed to alleviate my concerns regarding the recommended procedure. I recommend prospective patients read this review before seeing Haaz, so they can be prepared to be ignored and belittled.

We were warned that Dr. Haaz was very slow but have honestly never experienced anything like this. I asked multiple people what the status of our visit was with no one able to answer me. Dr Lax was my mother's cardiologist until our family realized how verbally abusive and bullying his…read morebehavior was to her. He repeatedly berated and belittled her for asking "too many questions" and for worrying about her heart disease and for questioning the accuracy of the medications he was prescribing her. She was having stomach aches and dread before each appointment, and the breaking point was a phone call in which he started screaming at her for being a difficult patient. He was grossly unprofessional, demeaning, and condescending to her. We advised her to find a new cardiologist at a new office. Hampered by location, and the fact that she lived in a rural area, his office was the "only game in town." Lax's aggressive, argumentative, combative behavior even extended to my father and other family members. And worst of all, Lax could not have cared less for the quality of care or continuity of care for my mother. I have concluded that PA is so desperate for doctors, and so poorly regulated, that they allow anyone to practice medicine, regardless of competency or adherence to the Hippocratic Oath. In the alternative, Lax has friends in high places who turn a blind eye to his boorish behavior towards patients.

During every appointment, he conducts a comprehensive examination, and most importantly takes the time to listen to my concerns and completely answer my questions. As the result of Dr. Lax's exceptional medical care, I continue to enjoy fine cardiovascular health and would highly recommend Dr. Lax to any patient seeking a highly qualified Cardiologist.
