One of those hidden gems that, once found, you will keep going back to.
This small and unassuming shop runs along the top edge of Kirkgate market in Leeds (well worth a good look round on its own). It sells value orientated watches and electrical stuff, and is the first port of call if you have a battery you can't replace, or need a cheap watch for work, or some other small and inexpensive electrical item.
I am guessing the guy behind the counter is Mr Armitage - he's great value I must say. Nothing fazes him so if you have some watch that doesn't work, some odd looking battery you need to replace, a watch that needs a new strap or just need advice on some minor electrical problem this is your man. He'll fit whatever is required too, generally on the spot, and does it in the manner of a shopkeeper who has seen it all and knows how pretty much everything works. And it's all done in a good natured and friendly manner. This is old-fashioned shop keeping - he wants you to come back so he does the work properly and inexpensively. Such a rarity these days.
To this day I haven't taken anything there he hasn't sorted, and sorted cheaply too. read more
