I explained I only had a small window of time and that the defendant was going to be at a certain office at 4 PM that day and wouldn't be there long. The bad part about it was I was frantic because it was already 2:30 PM when I made this request. Mr. Anderson told me that was part of his business profile and that he made it a practice to help people with last minute requests if any way possible. He said he would drop everything else he had scheduled and take care of it for me. I met Mr. Anderson at the place of service 15 minutes prior to when I knew my former spouse would be there and gave him the papers to serve. No sooner had I done this he showed up early. I pointed out the car and within 2 minutes of handing Mr. Anderson the documents he was serving them as he stepped out of his car. What a miracle! Had I not been able to get this summons and complaint served the statute of limitations would have expired on me and I would have been out of luck and my life in ruin. This is what happens when Lawyers wait until the last minute to get things done. All I can say is thank goodness Mr. Anderson is the type to answer his telephone and is willing to suspend other work assignments to help people with actual emergencies. The fee was a little pricey. $125.00 for an hour or so worth of work but I gladly paid it without question. He told me it was this much because the job was classified as an emergency service but explained, had he been given more notice It would have been much less.
