The pastry chef and his staff make everything fresh including the creative chocolate lollipops and other larger figures (Santa at Christmas, bunnies at Easter and lots of other fun stuff). Getting back to the Schwarzwälder Torte (BFC), it's soaked in enough Kirschwasser (cherry schnapps) to make you long for your grandmother's company. You're seated quite comfortably in the traditional upholstery expected from the region's longer-running establishments. Waitstaff is quick and attentive surprisingly and regardless of how full it is. In the summer, there's a terrace which seats about 30 in addition to the indoor 40 or so seats. The coffee and hot chocolate are strong and tasty, but Adler also has an alcohol permit, so you feel free to order an Aperol Spritz if the sugar is getting to you. But the biggest treats are in that vitrine to your left when you walk through the sliding doors and up those three stairs. Enjoy!
