    Amazing paella!

Amazing! We have been looking forward to our yearly visit to Armando's and it was better than ever. We lucked out and they had just re-opened the day we booked. The house-specialty lime cocktail was great, the traditional Caesar salad excellent, the ceviche super fresh, but the paella was the star of the show. Armando customized it for the three of us that ordered it and it was packed full of shrimp clams and mussels and fresh local fish they caught themselves and was topped with a perfectly cooked lobster tail. The fresh caught sea bass and tuna were perfect as well. Armando and the staff are great people and always happy and friendly. Easy to get to with killer food and drinks. Love this place! See you next time...

Once in a while you'll come across something that's unlike anything else you've encountered. Armando's is like that. It's the definition of a hole-in-the-wall gem. From the street you may not even be able to tell it's a restaurant. (When I first walked past I noticed a gentleman inside working on a bicycle. That was my introduction to Armando!) The restaurant seating, per-se, is occasionally on the sidewalk in front of the building, but most seating is in a patio enclave in back. Seating is informal -- just a step up from picnic benches. But there is a lot of shade and it's quiet, so it's a welcome respite from the typical Bucerias hustle and bustle. A great place to enjoy a bit of refreshment after a day in the marketplace. But you came here for the food, right? Holy cow! So good. I've travelled a fair bit, and I've had paella all over Andalusia. Nowhere have I had better paella than Armando made. Nowhere! The menu is fairly focused: heavy on seafood, light on other proteins. So, if --like my wife -- you don't care for seafood you may not love this place as much as I do. But if you do, you won't find any seafood locally that's fresher, or prepared with more care and attention. Service is the perfect balance of friendliness and attention to diners' needs. In the future, you'll find me at Armando's every time my travels take me to Riveria Nayarit!

I have always been a little cautious about eating anywhere other than the resort I'm staying at. But, I really wanted to try out a new place. Let's face it, there is nothing romantic about resort buffets. My friend said they had heard good things about Armando's so we called for a car and headed out. We were greeted by Armando upon arrival. He said, "Hi, I'm Armando- I'm your chef." He looked happy and proud. I just had a feeling it was going to be a great night. We were walked back to an outside seating area in a courtyard with pretty lighting and a few tables with happy, friendly and relaxed, tourists. It felt like we had just found a secret spot! The tables are very casual, no tablecloths. That's not a big deal, because we were there for the food, not for the table linens! I ordered the lemonade drink and it was excellent. So refreshing with a little kick of tequila and the unique twist of basil. I confirmed with our server that they only use bagged ice, because I was so paranoid about getting sick. Speaking of our server, he was so incredibly nice. The service at our resort was awful, so it was really wonderful to be very well taken care of. We had some crispy chips and delicious guacamole before dinner. The menu here offers a lot of seafood options, but I don't eat seafood. My friends had the shrimp and Mahi Mahi. They said it was very good. I had the chicken with pasta for dinner and I really enjoyed it. The problem was I got full before eating only 1/2 of it. We also ordered cheesecake and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and I didn't get sick- I'm starting to let go of some of the fear that I used to have. Armando's Place is a great choice and they know that most touristas need the filtered water and bagged ice. Muchas Gracias . I'm so glad we found this hideaway gem! Our server gave us good advice about where to go, and he was so patient with all of my questions. Thank You for wonderful night that we won't soon forget. In Summary: Romantic little spot Great Food Many seafood options Delicious Beverages No travel sickness! yay Impeccable, warm and welcoming service

Excellent service and food! Lobster linguine was amazing. The red snapper was large and perfectly cooked.

This place is INCREDIBLE! Have been twice this week for Coconut Shrimp. My hubby's Mahi Mahi was exceptional. This owner takes time to greet every table and takes such pride in his business

A fabulous restaurant! Excellent service, the food quality is exceptional, and Armando and his family and team are wonderfully kind, accommodating and welcoming. We (4 of us), stopped for a late lunch on a Thursday. Three of us got the catch of the day, (right out of the ocean), one had coconut shrimp (truly the best I've ever had!), as well as a caprese salad and Mexican lemonade (3 made with Tequila and 1 with vodka). Prices are wonderfully low, the outdoor dining room is calming, filled with beautiful flowers, twinkle lights and gorgeous artwork. This is a must-visit restaurant if you're lucky enough to be in bucerias (down the beach from Puerto Vallarta.

Fantastic food, environment and prices!! Armando and his team showed us the best food and warmest, kindest service. Armando came out to the table (there were 13 of us), showed us the fresh tuna and snapper he'd bought at the market that day, and told us about those specials as well as all the items on the menu. We had seafood paella (see the picture), and it was fabulous! Don't miss going to this great restaurant!!!

We visited this place for the first time as it was recommended to us by our hotel and everything we ordered was just devine and very fresh. If you are every wanting to venture out and try a new place please try this place.

Dinner in the garden at Armando's place in Bucerías

Super cool and chill outdoor garden restaurant. Must try the lemonade with tequila (Inthink it had some mint in it?). Tuna sashimi was the freshest bi have ever had and the whole grilled snapper was amazing! Music and dancing as well. Felt like you were with family. Make a reservation!!!

It's not a typical restaurant. It's located in a residential area. We walked our way there and made it to this hole in the wall. Armando greeted us and brought us to the back area. Very beautiful outdoor backyard patio. We ordered seafood paella and it was phenomenal. I have tasted paella in Spain and Armando's paella is very similar to what I have tasted in Spain. It's so delicious. The lobster is thick, tuna and red snapper is on point and the rice in it is very flavorful. This place is a MUST TRY! Nothing but good food and Armando's service is excellent!

The atmosphere here is authentic Mexico in the best way. The food was tied for first during our visit to Bucerias. Each member of our table had something different, and we all thought our food was fantastic, so you can't go wrong here. My understanding from a local is that Chiles en Nogada is a local dish, so I ordered that and highly recommend it. Armando came out and checked on us during the meal, which was an extra special touch. Highly recommend & we will be back when we return!

The place has a following, so I don't feel bad about giving this review for only three stars (I'm an easy grader). I enjoyed the vibe, and the service was good. The crowd is 60+. Mostly expats. I was underwhelmed and honestly, disappointed by the food, unfortunately. I had very high expectations, given the recommendation. The fare is midwestern US with attempts toward flavor. Believe me I know what I'm talking about because I grew up in a food desert in the American Midwest. It's not Mediterranean. The meats are all undercooked (although they warn you) with liberal use of butter, salt, and cheese throughout. This is like an Olive Garden. I enjoyed my dinner with friends, but won't return unless it's to the cute store.
