Since he retired, Dr. Brian Barron has taken over ownership of the clinic. I have found their vets. to be superior in all aspects of their care. Knowledge of current state and treatment of acute animal illnesses, as well as management of chronic conditions, e.g. My senior dog had severe arthritis in her spine. Dr. Barron, my vet, recommended weekly laser treatments to her back to reduce pain and inflammation. She responded very positively to the treatments. Dr. Barron heads the clinic, & has 2 Associate veterinarians that work with him. They are thorough in their examination of your pets, kind & considerate, explain steps of the treatment plan to you clearly, are not rushed when they are examining your pet, & honest in their responses to your questions. Office staff are polite, friendly, professional, and efficient. They clinic moved to its current location late last year. The new clinic on Kanis Rd is bigger & more spacious than previous location. Has a large waiting room for patients, has more exam rooms, and plenty of free parking. Clinic offers boarding and grooming. It may cost slightly more than other clinics, but the confidence and trust you feel in the care of your pet is worth the expense

Everyone needs to know to NOT board your pets there because they leave them unfed, unwatered, and unlooked in on for almost 48 hours between noon on Sat and 7:30 on Monday. If that isn't negligence I don't know what is. The worst thing, they aren't going to tell you this before you leave your pets there. If I could give them a negative rating I would.

Moving is obviously chaotic and it was the day we got here and my mother was insisting the dogs needed a nail trim (she was correct but I had no idea where my clippers were since everything was packed) we called and they fit us right in to trim the dogs nails which was great. They called my old vet and had records faxed over and told me they were due for some tests before I could get more heart worm medicine and things like that. Normal stuff. I appreciated them doing all the work for me so I could worry about unpacking. Fast forward about 4 days later, my Aussie was losing hair in clumps and I was getting my money's worth out of my dyson pet. She was scratching nonstop and I found fleas on her and the Boston's despite being on advantix. They all had rashes and their skin was very red and irritated. Benadryl wasn't helping and I couldn't get rid of the fleas( I'm guessing they have infested my yard) so I called just in a panic. They got me in the next day. Saw all 3 of the dogs. All needed their kennel cough shots, and the Parvo shot, my Aussie needed her rabies. They all got heart worm tests, and meds for that and fleas. Full physicals, and my female boston had gotten such a bad skin infection she needed antibiotics. Needless to say we had a lot done. The vet was great, and she's also from Dallas which bonded me with her immediately. She was great though and so sweet, even tolerating my Aussies bad behavior. She spent a lot of time with us as well. Now the price was hard to swallow but I did have a lot done. I had a great and affordable vet back home so it was a wow when I saw the bill. It was around $770, but I do have 3 dogs and they needed so much done still a big hit when you just moved which is expensive on it's own but they are my babies so you do what you have to. I wasn't crazy about the fact they take them out of the room to get samples. I understand why but for me, my dogs will let you do more with me around (only my Aussie the other 2 don't care) and they couldn't get a sample from her but I think had they tried with me there it wouldn't have been a problem. The dogs are still scratching a lot but I think they might just be allergic to stuff here and need to adjust. I'm happy I've found a vet that I like who is close, even if I have to sell my eggs to pay the bill.

A lot…read more So, when I say that Briarwood is the best animal hospital/vet clinic I've ever been to, not only is that out of a big sample size, but it's the highest praise I could give. Briarwood's folks were prompt and wonderful on the phone. They knew exactly what offerings they had, their schedule, prices, with no hesitation over the phone. They were willing to take in both of our dogs and a stray (THREE dogs) in one appointment, and that appointment was a masterclass in caring efficiency. Taking care of three dogs at once is impressive, but doing it with care and making sure each one gets the individual attention they need is unheard of. Not only did we get thorough checkups and necessary shots for everyone, but since they're a groomer too they threw in things like nail trimming (much needed for my old, slow dogs) just as part of the appointment. That alone was huge. I was particularly shocked when a little less than a week after our appointment, the vet we saw called to follow up and see how the stray was doing (he'd been malnourished and weak when we brought him in) which was above-and-beyond, and exactly the kind of thing I look for when trying to find someone to look after my furry friends. Seriously, I could not recommend Briarwood more!

The Drs. are not only thoughtful, compassionate, and incredibly attentive, but extremely knowledgeable and truly exceptional at what they do. They truly go above and beyond, not only in the care they provide, but also in the way they explain things and answer questions. I know that with their staff, he is in the best hands! Dr. Rene took excellent care of Eeyore during his surgery and recovery is going very well. Dr Lowry was patient and kind when answering questions about his aftercare instructions. The ENTIRE staff is amazing, kind and considerate. They gave me comfort in a stressful time, and I will always be grateful to the Drs. and staff here.

The love at Pinnacle Valley shows throughout the place. It isn't just Dr. Sonya but the entire staff there is firing on all cylinders. They are really kind people. You know when someone is an animal lover. It is a calling. That is definitely true of Dr. Sonya. The kindness Dr. Sonya and her staff have shown me in recent weeks while we were dealing with a dearly loved pet with a terminal illness was so appreciated and so meaningful to us, I cannot adequately describe how much it meant to my family and to me personally. If you are needing a new vet home for your furry family members, you owe it to youself and your pets to check them out. You'll be glad you did.

Over the last few months, my dog had several infections from the original surgery, and my vet determined that his body was rejecting the implanted plate. We tried several rounds of antibiotics to no avail. I finally arranged for Dr. Fields to see him to evaluate him and remove the plate and screws. Today, I dropped him off for this surgery, and it was truly a day filled with concern for my dog and compassion and graciously generosity for the work they did, how the kept me updated throughout the day, and just overall how they treated me and my pup. I am forever grateful. I know there were some new people, but the staff that worked with me previously came out to greet me and welcome me, and they were INCREDIBLE. One came out to share how her dog had gone through the same and gave me tremendous hope that my boy will be running again in a few weeks without the pain he's struggled with for months. I hope I don't need their surgery services again, but if I do, and am confident I will feel good about returning.

My 4-1/2 year old English Mastiff, Xena, was treated by this clinic, specifically by Dr Matthew…read moreField, for surgery treatment on my sweet girl for cancer. I will say information was given, along with pricing of each portion of her surgery. Dr Field 's assistant called me during Xena's surgery to provide information and my instructions to continue for a stated price. I was actually shocked and frankly, appalled that my dog was simply lying on a surgery table, and care was withheld until money was discussed. WTF! After I greenlighted further care, my poor baby was treated and placed in recovery. As she remained w them for over a week and a half in the hospital, I was at least able to see her briefly several times a day. She was not eating, so they allowed me to bring her cooked chicken livers w rice. When Xena was finally able to come home, she went downhill quickly. Even though I called Dr Field's assistant and advised she was feeling terrible, and I wanted to bring her back to the hospital so she could be seen by a doctor, I was told she was just feeling bad from surgery. I called 3x expressing my concerns, but was told to keep her home. That final day, I placed a call again and advised Xena was urinating straight blood, I was told to bring her in. When I arrived and placed her in the care of the ER portion of this clinic, I gave my sweet girl a kiss and held her head up, placing my forehead on hers and told her I would see her soon. I never saw her again after that. This greedy and unsympathetic clinic actually withheld emergency treatment until the billing employee was able to reach my husband, as he had my bank card. They demanded $1500 down-payment before providing my baby any sort of treatment. I received a call from the clinic within 2 hours time advising me my poor deathly ill baby had a huge seizure in a cold and bare cage. The ER doctor advised she vomited a large amount of blood before going into cardiac arrest. The ER doctor contacted me, as they were trying to revive her via CPR, to see if I wanted them to continue trying to revive her. WTF! The description given by the attending doctor was horrifying. I stopped CPR treatment as I knew my baby was too far gone. Later, I was advised she had been bleeding internally since being released from the hospital. WHY DID THEY NOT LISTEN WHEN CONTACTED BY ME! I had Xena cremated, and when I picked up her ashes, Dr Field's assistant came out to my vehicle to apologize for not listening to my earlier concerns upon bringing her home. HOW DARE SHE! I was so broken at that moment, I had no reply. Well, NOW, I have plenty to say. After spending close to $15,000, (yes, that much) for this horrifying and gut-wretching service, I can honestly say that I wholeheartedly recommend NEVER GO HERE FOR QUALITY CARE if you love your animals. If I could do it over again, I would rather have euthanized my sweet girl immediately after her cancer diagnosis. I will NEVER forgive or understand how in the hell can those employees sleep at night knowing THEY WITHHELD EMERGENCY TREATMENT UNTIL PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED. My poor baby was just shoved to the side EVEN AS SHE SAT THERE DYING IN FRONT OF THEM. I hope everyone of those greedy heartless people rot in hell. NEVER GO HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS.

I have been bringing my rescue kittens here and have seen all three vets over the past several months. Each of them has been kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and patient - everything I could hope for in a vet! They are up-to-date on contemporary research on diet, dental health, etc. Each of them takes the time to talk with me, answer all my questions, and give me tips that I hadn't thought to ask about based on upcoming developmental stages (this is my first time with kittens - I have always had adult cats). In contrast, during my last annual appointment at a vet in the Heights, they didn't even take my cat out of her carrier - just reached in to jab her for her vaccines without providing any sort of wellness exam and walked out before I even realized it was over. I haven't compared prices with other vets, though other reviewers say they find the costs here to be comparable to others in the area. As long as you can afford it, no one else I have seen in Little Rock comes close to the level of care I have observed at Pleasant Valley. PSA (sorry Pleasant Valley): if cost is a big factor for your family, there is a low-cost walk-in vaccination and spay/neutering clinic in Little Rock that is open twice a month. However, if cost isn't an issue, the level of care (and much lower stress / lack of wait time / ability to schedule an appointment) makes Pleasant Valley an easy choice.

Not to mention the RIDICULOUS prices. I swear it gets more expensive every visit. $550 for my dog's regular annual visit, which didn't include some vaccines (that are every 3 years). Mind you she is a healthy, normally aging dog. However, Dr. Vaughan in particular has been the worst I've experienced so far. Not concerned with anything whatsoever. Seemed almost annoyed with issues I brought up and gave me blow-off answers/solutions. Unfortunately will be looking for a new clinic.
