Since getting my dog Whiskey, we've visited a couple different vet offices in Charlotte. I can say…read morewithout a shadow of a doubt that Uptown Vet is by far superior to any others! One particular day my dog Whiskey had a hot spot and they went above and beyond in their accommodation of us. They got us in same day and made sure that he had everything he needed, they even followed up to ensure he was doing ok after the fact! I can't recommend them enough and would highly recommend Uptown Vet to anyone in the area!

I arrived 13…read moreminutes after my appointment and was told to Leave and come back in an hour and a half even though the practice was empty. I imploded the front desk receptionists to have some compassion as I didn't want to put my dog through the cruelty of having to wait an additional hour and a half of anxiety, but I was told in no uncertain terms they were 'busy' and If you're more then ten minutes late they need to get money from the next customer. I was saddened and shocked by the lack of compassion. I left feeling very frustrated, feeling as though my pet had been mistreated, as had I. They couldn't take care of a visibly traumatized animal because we arrived 3 minutes after their ten minute cut off time. Mind you we have been clients the entire 5 year life of my dog. I called the receptionist hours later to ask for Dr. Jen Larson's email address (the owner) so that I could express my dissatisfaction at the way I and my dog were treated. The receptionist (Mikayla) told me she never hear of a 'Dr: Jen Larson'. I found that strange as it's small practice. I feel I was lied to. Later that night, I was surprised that Dr. Jen Larson thought it appropriate to call me at my home and lecture me on why her receptionists are the best and their policy is ten minutes and her practice did nothing wrong. Honestly I have never been looking for a discount or money back. All I wanted as an apology for mistreating my pet. Instead I was insulted in a very u professional way and quite frankly felt threatened by her tone. I'll be filing a complaint with the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board. If this is how a 5 year client is treated understand what you are in for. They care about money more than a distressed animal and the only apology you will get is nothing.

Everyone we interacted with, including the doctor and the receptionist, was professional and welcoming. What really stood out to me was their fear-free approach for my kitty. They're AAHA accredited, let Goose set the pace, and never took him out of the room, which made such a difference in keeping him calm and comfortable. I'm a veterinary technician myself, and it meant a lot to be able to sit down and have a genuine conversation with the doctor without feeling rushed. They listened openly, made thoughtful recommendations, and were truly engaged with both me and Goose throughout the appointment. This is exactly what we were looking for in a vet, and we truly couldn't be happier with the experience. Highly recommend!

EDIT: Queen City Hospital responded to my Google review saying this is a "conflict of interest"…read morewhich is a shady business practice. You're going to say something is a "conflict of interest" and try to report/hide one star reviews? That speaks volumes and it makes me wonder how many of your 5 star reviewed are fabricated. I attached photo proof that I was a customer here (but blurred my last name). I would've edited and included this in my Google review, but Google often flags and removes posts after editing them. I took my cat Mimi here awhile back and had a terrible experience. The employees who worked here were absolutely miserable and didn't show a drop of care towards me or my cat. They told me they could fit me in during a specific time but proceeded to make me wait an hour after my appointment because it was "a work in" (not communicated to me and the appointment was not scheduled same-day). Waiting so long made my cat so nervous that she was panting. Because of the atrociously long wait, she was so anxious she was running around and hissing when the vets came in. I've NEVER seen her do this. They seemed annoyed at her and it made me cry. This caused her tail injury to get significantly worse and I took her to Armstrong Animal Clinic. I'm only writing this review because I wound up returning to Armstrong recently and had flashbacks to how terrible this place was. The employees were so cold and the management seemed to treat their employees terribly. The whole vibe reeked of, "I don't want to be here, I hate working here, I'm just here for a paycheck." With the exception of the one person who checked me out who genuinely seemed to have a heart. However, the women who worked here were genuinely evil. Especially the manager with the shorter hair.
