I was a patient here for a few months, just for routine care/medication prescriptions. However, a…read morelittle more than a month ago, I got sick and went to Dr. Woodham to be seen, at the time for a sore throat. My strep and flu test were negative, so she said it just seemed like a bad cold. A few days later, I had developed a severe cough. I ended up going to the urgent care to see if I could get a chest X-ray. The urgent care I went to didn't have an X-ray tech that day, so they couldn't do much for me. My cough got worse and I called Desert Life primary care, letting them know that my cough had worsened and that I felt like it was in my chest, but they didn't have me come in for an appt. The day after, I went to the urgent care again, and they determined that I had an Upper Respiratory Infection. A few days later, I schedule a Telehealth appt with Dr. Woodham because my cough wasn't improving, I couldn't sleep, and I felt pretty awful. I had pain in my chest and felt like I had strained a rib muscle from coughing. She said it was just a bad virus going around. I asked if I should be concerned about getting tested for Valley Fever or anything else, but she said I would "be a lot more sick and coughing more" if I had something like that. She did send me for a chest X-ray however because of my chest pain. Two days later, I had another Telehealth appt with her to discuss the results of my X-ray. My X-ray didn't show that there was anything in my lungs at the time, so she just told me again that it was just a bad virus and basically that I just needed to wait it out. At that point, I was barely sleeping because of the coughing. She just offered to prescribe more medicine, but I felt like she seemed impatient with me and with me continuing to be concerned that I wasn't getting better. Two days after that, I became even more ill, with nausea, fever, chills, and zero appetite...and the coughing was REALLY bad. I decided to go to another doctor because I wasn't happy with the care at Desert Life Primary Care, and I also felt like Dr. Woodham didn't care about me as a person. As soon as I went to another doctor, after listening to my lungs (which Dr. Woodham never told me I should come into her office so that she could do that..), they immediately determined that I had severe Pneumonia. They also did a blood test to determine the cause, and put me on very strong antibiotics. They said that if I hadn't gotten on antibiotics when I did, I most likely would have ended up in the hospital. Turns out, after the results of my blood test came back, I had bacterial Pneumonia, and the type I had is commonly called "Walking Pneumonia". All in all, I was very ill for a total of almost a month, and from all the severe coughing, I ended up fracturing 2 ribs and the cartilage around my sternum had damage to it. I'm currently waiting on a CT scan for that. I called Dr. Woodham's office recently to ask for the results of my initial lung X-ray and I mentioned to the woman at the front desk that I ended up having severe Pneumonia and that I went to another doctor. The front desk woman didn't even offer an apology or anything, but was super short with me and told me that everything I had access to was on the portal. During the entire time, no one in Dr. Woodham's office ever followed up on me to see if I was ok, after they didn't hear anything from me after my last Telehealth appointment. I will never be a patient there again, and I am very unhappy with how the entire ordeal played out.

However, they still charged us and refused any refund or to at least give us our first month product we rightfully paid for. There was a clear misunderstanding from their staff , yet they refused to work with us for their poor communication. Their customer service is terrible. They are greedy crooks. I would not recommend them to anyone for any reason.

This rating is specifically for their rude schedulers. Every time I have made an appointment it's…read morelike I'm inconveniencing them. And they treat me like I should know everything already. Today I called because I had a call saying I needed to come in but there's no point because I'm not needing this office for my follow up on a recent biopsy that was done elsewhere so I called confused and the lady was so rude about it. Like super annoyed that I was like uh do I need to actually make an appointment because there's no point for me. She practically hung up on me too. Excuse me for being confused. Also this place's height ruler is wrong. They said I was 5'3" I measured very carefully at home and at the Banner Cancer Center and they both said I'm 5'4"... I don't know how you can be a doctors office with the height hung incorrectly on the wall but whatever. The doctor I see and the nurses have been nice enough. Seems like they are resident doctors but I do like that I can get in quickly and not a long wait for an appointment. Super annoyed that they referred me to a place that doesn't even take my insurance so I had to look for my own place and wait for a referral for that. It's annoying that they can't refer places that are within my insurance network like why can't they have a search engine for that... maybe too advance of technology I guess. Not looking forward to making any appointments since the receptionist team are full of attitude. I want even rude but I did speak like I was confused. Not necessarily a super cheerful tone but wasn't a biotch either. Didn't deserve the sass which is why your place is getting a low low rating. ‍

I just showed up at 1:50 for a 2:00 appointment and was told I needed to reschedule since I wasn't there 30 minutes early. Huge waste of time, gas and taking off work!!!! I was never told 30 minutes prior, they sent me a link prior to the visit with paperwork to be completed and I did that online. No mention of new patient paperwork until I was there 10 minutes early for my appointment. I'm waiting on a manager to call me back regarding this because I feel I was disrespected 100% for doing the right thing. These people should be ashamed of themselves. I had a good reference to see Dr. Fisher but that didn't work out. I feel sorry for the doctors who lose patients because of the front office staff. What a joke of an office. And I won't be rescheduling because they wasted too much of my time already. This was for a second opinion anyway, so don't need the aggravation.

On 15 July 2025, I had a visit with Debra Berger, FNP (Family Nurse Practicioner). She told me that…read morea colleague, maybe the intake technician-(but I do not recall telling that lady) said I was there to, among other things, talk about my blood pressure medications. When she told me that she was told by her colleague to cover my blood pressure meds, I told her I was seeing a cardiologist and I was doing fine with his plan for me, so I preferred not to discuss my blood presure meds. The blood pressure meds review issue was no biggie for either her or me, but the following is.... *** After we finished our session, I asked Nurse Berger for a prescription renewal for a muscle relaxer for my nocturnal leg cramps. SHE REFUSED! I told her that I preferred Tizanidine, as it dehydrates me and it stops my noctural Phlegm, which can fill up my Eustacian Tubes during the night and could cause Vertigo. I added that I'd lost 80% of my right ear hearing due to an ear infection in the late 1990s.. I told her that Dr. Spivery, under whom I assume Ms, Berger works, had written a muscle relaxer for me. Berger became angry and said, "WELL, GO SEE DR. SPIVEY!" I shall not go back to that office and I'll get a copy of this review to Dr. Spivey. *** I told Ms. Berger that I really needed a muscle relaxer for my noctural leg cramps (they awaken me at night and are very painful and hard to get rid of. I added that as men (I don't know about women) get into their 70s and 80s, leg cramps come on and become more frequent and longer lasting as a man ages. *** Ms. Berger denied that theory. *********************************************************** Okay, so to conclude, I am going to paste in below what gemini.google.com said about aging males and leg cramps. Google's "Gemini" is an Artificial Intelligence robot bank, has read and stored everything on the internet. My conversation with Gemini is below: *********************************************************** I wish Gemini had been present in my years as a young student. *** HERE IS THE QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION GEMINI & I had: Question: Are nocturnal leg cramps more and more common in men as they age from age 70 to 90? Yes, nocturnal leg cramps tend to become more common as people age, and this trend continues into the 70s and 80s. While some sources suggest that women experience them more than men, the general consensus is that increasing age is a significant risk factor for both genders. Here's a breakdown of why this is the case and some relevant statistics: Increased Prevalence with Age: Nearly every adult over 50 will experience leg cramps at least once. 33% of people over 60 will have a nocturnal leg cramp at least once every two months. The prevalence further increases, with some studies showing that almost half of those aged 80 years or more experience them. One study found that 50% of elderly outpatients had "rest cramps," with 20% reporting symptoms for 10 years or more. Another study showed that 46% of adults aged 60 and older reported cramps, with 31% reporting being woken up by them, and 15% having cramps more than 3 times a month. Reasons for Increased Prevalence in Older Adults: Tendon Shortening: As people age, their tendons naturally shorten, which can lead to muscle cramps. Muscle Fatigue and Nerve Dysfunction: These are considered primary causes. Electromyographic studies suggest that leg cramps originate in the lower motor neurons with hyperactive, high-frequency, involuntary nerve discharge. Age-Related Loss of Motor Neurons: This is more pronounced in the legs and can contribute to a propensity for leg cramps in older individuals. Reduced Physical Activity: Inactivity can lead to muscle shortening and increased risk of cramps. Underlying Medical Conditions: Many chronic conditions common in older adults can contribute to leg cramps, including: Diabetes Kidney failure Peripheral artery disease (restricting blood flow) Neurological disorders (e.g., Parkinson's disease, nerve damage) Osteoarthritis Thyroid diseases Dehydration and electrolyte imbalances (though the evidence for mineral supplementation being a primary solution is mixed). Medications: Many medications commonly prescribed to older adults can have muscle cramps as a side effect, such as diuretics, statins (for cholesterol), and blood pressure drugs. In summary, while leg cramps can affect anyone, their frequency and severity generally increase with age, making them more and more common in men (and women) as they progress from their 70s into their 90s. This is often due to a combination of physiological changes associated with aging and the increased likelihood of comorbid health conditions and medications. *********************************************************** I sincerely hope this helps Ms. Berger and her future patients. I've made arrangements to go again to my previous PCP, who's a good distance away from my home. Ms. Berger's office is only 2 miles from my home.

I filled out the very lengthy intake documents online taking special care to make sure my symptoms were listed and accurate when I got into the office. One of the first things they ask for is money upfront, which is odd... $84. I paid the money and was called back to my room. The woman who was doing my initial intake, said, "so you're here for back and neck pain. Where does it hurt in your back and neck?" I said, I'm not here for back and neck pain, it does say on the forms I filled out She flipped through a bunch of forms and says "so it gets worse with anxiety and stress?" I never said any of these things... So I asked her, "do you have the right chart in front of you?" Now this woman with plenty nice, but when she left, she did not come back right away. This gave me a bad feeling, they didn't even know who I was or which problems I was coming in for. I stopped at the front desk and asked to be refunded my $84 as I wasn't seen by anybody. The woman at the front desk said the manager would be calling me. Two hours later, I called and left a message to see when that would be credited Then around 4 PM. I called and was told the manager would call me before the end of the day. I have yet to speak to the manager or see any indication that that amount had been credited.
