I was a long time digital subscriber to the newspaper which cost something like $ 0.99 per month. When I set up the account, I asked to be contacted via email and I received a LOT of email SPAM from the newspaper. What they "failed" to send was an email notification that my subscription cost was increased to something like $25.00 per month! They did send a physical letter, which I got AFTER I had been billed. I tried to cancel the subscription on their web site, and this "required customer service", which took me the better part of an hour to reach (mainly because they are an outside company). Then, I had to demand no less than 3 times that my subscription be cancelled - they kept offering me 3 months free, etc. SUCH a hassle AND I'm out $25.00 for something I hardly used and wasn't impressed with at $ 0.99 per month! Super predatory subscription service. Even if you don't finish signing up for the trial subscription they will enroll you anyways and then start demanding you provide your billing information to pay for the subscription you never signed up for. They do not provide any means of canceling your subscription and have been ignoring all the emails I send them. read more

The managing editor\manager is conducting ongoing fraud by double billing customers. when you call they have some bozo that try's to extend your subscription. do not give this business the time of day. They are a complete fraud. read more

They doubled my rate so I tried to cancel. Can't do it online! Tried calling and the person argued w me trying to set a lower price. After continued wrangling, they agreed to cancel. No longer could get paper via app - great but they keep sending it via email. Said they would refund the charge within 3 business days. Nope. Called a week later asking them to stop email and they said it was cancelled but am still getting emailed version another week later. During that call they said they would refund via a mailed check - in 3-4 weeks! This service is awful! read more

Misleading and just trying to take your money. I had a digital membership for research purposes for school, and after many charges, I finally got a hold of someone over the phone to cancel the subscription. Online it states you can "manage" your subscription online; however that is not the case. You must call to cancel, and good luck getting someone on the phone. Then, once you do get them on the phone, they can barely speak English and try to get you to keep your subscription. Horrible customer service and a waste of time and money. read more

The AZ Daily Sun will NOT deliver your paper (which you pay for), will not deliver the missed paper (as promised numerous times), but WILL charge you for their lack of delivery and lack of communication. I have been marketing my Flagstaff businesses for about 30 years. Recently I attempted running a long term ad with the Classified department. It was like dealing with a dictatorship. They insisted on a signed contract and payment before completion of ad copy. I opted to not move forward and just received a bill for ??. I have had so many problems with this newspaper over the years that I could write a book. There were misspellings in ads, I was billed for ads I had already paid for -over and over and then who knows when I will or will not receive the paper that I pay to have delivered to my house! They're the only show in town and could care less about the quality of their services. read more

OMG... I subscribed last year. I received: a double subscription and double billing. Spotty delivery. I complained about being billed two times and receiving (occasionally, at random) 2 papers per day. Nothing every changed ... EVEN AFTER FIVE (5: one, two, three, four, five!) letters of complaint about double billing, poor service. After a three month lull after my subscription ended, the Daily Sun started to deliver AGAIN!!!! This is like a BAD COMPUTER VIRUS!!! Beware of the poorest customer service in the newspaper industry. I had a poor experience with the legal advertising department. I published a legal notice on September 17 for a hearing on October 5. The newspaper did not prepare or mail the affidavit of publication until September 30, and they sent it to me by First Class mail. Since I needed it for the hearing, and had not received it, I called on October 2 to inquire. All they could do was tell me that they had mailed it. To be sure I had the affidavit of publication in time for the hearing, I had to incur the expense of Fed Ex Saturday delivery, in addition to what I had already paid them. Fortunately, there are other eligible newspapers for legal advertising in Coconino County. read more

The Arizona daily sun subscription department has the most uncooperative and rude organization there ever was. We have been trying to get our bill straight, our delivery canceled and every time we talk to somebody, not only will they not refer us to a supervisor, but the amount we owe goes up. We have canceled the paper and our balance is still going up- I don't understand. I am going to go in and personally talk to someone. I will never subscribe to this paper again and have been a customer of the daily sun for 24 years. The special edition baloney is just a sales gimmick to screw people. read more

This is the local daily paper - best for local new, sports and events. The coverage of the world, national and state is AP stuff. I have been reading it for 10 years plus via the Sunday subscription and the e-edition daily and never found it lacking. It keeps me abreast the local issues and directs me to many enjoyable events. read more

The Arizona Daily Sun is Flagstaff's local newspaper. Unfortunately, the overall reporting is typically "fluff". Little real effort is made to obtain and report even the most basic journalistic requirements like the; who, what, when, where, why and how of any given story. Writers and editors sloppily or lazily compile incomplete and shallow articles which require the least legwork and are one dimensional in researching or investigating current events of real concern to the residents of Flagstaff. Instead of focusing on quality informative articles, the AZ Daily Sun seems to mainly focus their efforts on human interest stories by creating uninformative twaddle with little if any fact finding effort made. They also have a Twitter account which Tweets relentlessly meaningless news updates of infrequent concern. Residents who are looking for informative current event reporting would do better to listen to KPUB (NPR) radio for local news as the Sun seems to be incapable or incompetent in these efforts. I would not recommend subscribing to this news media provider. read more
