When you make the reservation (and you really should make a reservation), you choose where you want to dine. The menu also differs, depending on where you sit. On the ground floor, that's the restaurant. I've dined there the most. I love trying their cocktails and their bitterballen aren't that bad. You almost can't go wrong with the dish that you choose; they also change and rotate so it might already be a different menu. I sat upstairs once. It was a small plates sharing menu with more cocktails to try! In other words, it was a more extensive cocktail menu. Every time I've been the food and the cocktails have been excellent. They also have beer in case you just want to do that. The decor is fun and quirky with an Indiana Jones/Jungle Cruise flavor. I would highly recommend getting a reservation if you're in Groningen.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, due to the semi-strict no-laptop policy maintained mostly on the weekends. "You don't need wifi to enjoy a good cup of coffee," is found on the menu and shows the effort that is made to keep the place open to those who come for the coffee, not to those who work on a laptop while thoughtlessly pouring liquid productivity down their throats. It's basically to keep the place from turning into Starbucks.
