Came out for their light up Halloween event. It was certainly crowded but the line moved quickly to get in. Their walk path for the event they said is about a half mile long and it was quite unique. Thought the selection of sunflowers was pretty good considering it was the last day of the sunflower festival. However, there is room for improvement. *We arrived right at 3pm-at the start of the session- and there were no buckets available. *Not much signage-it's not clear where to go to pick the zinnias or get water for the flowers so they won't wilt while walking around. Don't understand buying the tickets for the sunflowers ahead of time. I would prefer it to be like Apple picking or similar-you pay for what you pick upon leaving. *Spigot by zinnias not turned on so had to go inside market to get water from inside the market to put in the mason jar that you must buy to put the zinnias in. *tip-bring your own bucket with water for the sunflowers Overall, a fun experience, but can't help Feeling like we were price gouged. read more

Last night we came here to check out their Jacks and Lights event! They have a great farm here with lots to do. Delicious apple cider, donuts, coffee, hayrides, pumpkins picking, and more. The store was spacious and had some cute homemade honey, pickles, and jams. Lots of parking and I thought they were very organized running this event. There was a little pizza stand open too but most of the activities were closed at night understandably. The jack and lights were cool to see all the different jack o lanterns and how creative they were. Tickets were purchased online and a little too pricy for what you get but it was a nice fall night to walk outside and get in the mood for Halloween! Great if you have kids! read more

Only went for JACKS & LIGHTS after 6pm- There were a few cute photo opportunities before it got too dark to take pictures. Corn maze wasn't nothing but still just a corn maze.. 1 really long line to get coffee/tea. But the pumpkin lights walk was so underwhelming :/ I've been to others that I wasn't walking in complete darkness to get to the next set of pumpkins. And the fact that most were not real pumpkins was also kind of disappointing in comparison to those I've seen. Really not worth the price we paid to be there, sorry I won't be back. :/ read more

Went to the farm for their Sunflower Festival on a Sunday afternoon. Great open layout of everything and not too busy! Got checked in very quickly! Bought tickets online which you receive a discounted price if you do, and check in is a breeze. Lots of fun activities for the kids like a zip line, giant slide, horse rides, tractor ride, basketball football tire toss. Some delicious treats like their apple cider donuts, blueberry lemonade and even a nice on site coffee shop. Plenty of picture opportunities set up all over the farm. Biked past this intriguing farm yesterday -- while in Lacey Twp for an obligatory monthly grooming extravaganza with my dogs. Sits across the road from a really nice Ocean County forest preserve -- loaded with wild mushrooms -- an easy draw for an old fungi forager like me. ;) From the road -- Argos Farm looks well kept -- and the Marine Corps flag flying high above it made my drop in almost obligatory. I really like obscure farms off the beaten path that sell pastured pork, fowl, free range eggs and all sorts of organic produce appropriate to the harvest season -- so I went to check it out after my loop. Douglas and Emily are second generation owners of this rather large and well maintained farm -- albeit a bit thin on the kind of produce and pastured goodies I expected in their market. Housed in a massive warehouse-style building that was once an equestrian center -- the farm seems to be in transition -- seeking reinvention as something more upscale and trendy while remaining family friendly. Nice heirloom tomatoes for sale -- but Jersey is flush with that sort of thing down here this time of year. Most of the other produce was reserved for subscribing local customers that pay a fee for a weekly bushel of whatever the farmers choose and bag for them. Aside from some beans and zucchini -- the pickings were slim and the produce itself was steeply priced and not as robust as I would have liked. For example -- three tiny sprigs of leek were $3 and the bok choy (one of my favorite veggies) looked more like an anemic stalk of celery -- also $3. If I cooked all that they had for sale -- not sure I'd get one meal out of it. A few potatoes, some greens, and broccoli rabe that looked more like leaves than anything else rounded out what was available for the "non-subscribers". The obligatory fudge, pie and ice cream counters were dwarfed by the overall size of this place -- and I understand from the owners that they have a CIA trained chef on staff to handle a little cafe in the back with specialty catering experience -- for which this large building probably comes in handy. Emily said they have plans for a restaurant down the road -- part of the Argos family tradition started by her dad who owned this farm and a couple of area restaurants -- back in the day. Turns out Argos doesn't butcher any of their meat or poultry on site due to the high cost involved in complying with USDA regulations -- so the pork goes to Pennsylvania for slaughter and comes back vacuum packed and frozen. The chickens go to Goffle Farms in Wyckoff for the same treatment. Disappointing -- since "farm to table" by way of a distant slaughter house loses it's authenticity for me -- even though I completely understand the economics of this choice. Ironically enough -- Goffle Farms is just down the road from where I live -- so fresh kill poultry is always available in our house. Argos Farm is about to open its pumpkin patch for picking and hayrides this weekend -- and I suspect this is one of their high seasons -- along with their blueberry patches in June/July and traditional winter activities like Christmas trees, wreaths, etc. in December. I wanted to like Argos Farms more -- and were it not for the warmth and hospitality of the young owners and the pretty vistas -- it would have been a 2 star experience for me -- because of the limited quantity and quality of food for sale. Still -- I took home a nice sized chicken to roast and a bag full of their heirloom tomatoes -- both of which were delicious -- and that made the stop worthwhile. BTW -- they do accept credit cards. I'm not sure this farm warrants a special trip if you are out of town -- but for those in the area when Argos is in season with their marquee crops -- or when your kids need a hay ride or a "one on one" with their friendly livestock -- check it out. WhAt a huge disappointment and waste of money this place is . Cost me $60 just to get in for 4 people. Corn maze was alright ...that's About it . They should allow everyone in and sell tickets separately for each event instead of having a two hour line to get in. and if you just want to shop at the market, you can just go up there, the way it's situated. This rating is for the baked goods. We picked up a fruit pie and I tried the crumb cake. I was angling for the apple pie but wife won. This is perhaps the best pie crust in history. I mean ever. Back to my grandmother from Switzerland. To any bakery you have had. The pie was fantastic. Definitely cannot stop thinking about how good the apple is, and I'd be kidding myself to think I won't be back to find out. Recently had a bad experience in Bradley Beach at Del Ponte's. They have high ratings, was driving by and stopped in. Cheese danish sucked. Crumb cake sucked. Not sure what this has to do with Argos except the two crumb cake tries were within two weeks of each other so fresh in mind. Argos blew Del Ponte's away. I mean BLEW IT AWAY. Now, a farm shouldn't be making better baked goods than a bakery that charges $66 bucks for a Cassatta Cake but here it is. Whoever is baking at Argos Farm knows the shit cold. I've been going for years and I loved it, it's a little pricey, however the experience is worth it. There's TONS to do! After paying for a ticket, there's go karts (for young kids), a corn box, a corn maze, a HUGE slide, a jumping pad, hay ride, games, zip lining (for kids), animals, a playground and LOTS of photo opps for no extra fees! There are a few things that cost money such as shopping and a few extra things such as pumpkin picking, however there is still a lot to do! And their apple cider donuts are amazing! We heard that Argos Farm no longer permits walk in traffic for their market and gift shop. We read some reviews here and on Google that confirmed it. This is the first time I've ever heard of a gift shop with a cover charge. We don't have children and have no interest in the fun and games, but we still always enjoyed popping into the gift shop to grab donuts and other goodies. Business 101 teaches that it is always cheaper to keep your existing customers than try to get new ones. Unless this policy changes, Argos has lost a customer in us. I understand the strategy of catering to families (who will pay expensive fees for the experience) but it seems penny wise and pound foolish to put all their eggs in one basket and effectively outprice regular customers with money in hand and ready to spend. read more

We were very disappointed that they've decided to charge a $20/pp admission fee just to get to their store. We had our family of six there this weekend to do some shopping for a large upcoming dinner that we're hosting and they expected us to pay $120 just to walk to the store. Haha!! We would have easily spent $120+ in the store, but just to get to the store?! What a joke this place has become. I certainly will not recommend it to local family and friends. I paid $12 for my 2 year old to go in and he wasn't even tall enough for a lot of the stuff to do. Most places like this don't charge for kids under 3 or 4. Or a cheaper rate for small children. Totally unfair. The woman who owns it is rude. The "Cafe" in the back is run so poorly. The farm was great! One price to get in and everything was included! They had enough things for the kids to do! We bought a pie and Apple cider donuts. They were both delicious! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you had to go on two separate lines to buy the pies. You couldn't get it all in one spot and the lines were crazy long to buy them. extremely disappointed in their supposed blueberry festival. It was nothing at all as advertised. We paid entry to just walk in a green field. The refreshments and food was a lemonade stand with popcorn and snacks. The solo performer although, it was excellent. The rides were not rides and geared toward three-year-olds. Inside the farmers market, There was nothing with blueberries in it. No blueberry muffins, blueberry pies, blueberry cobbler, etc. An absolute waste of time. My 10-year-old nephew told me the car ride was more fun. We left after less than an hour and went bowling instead. Would never go back there again. An absolute waste of time and money. read more

went here yesterday with my boyfriend and baby cousin and it was a super fun nice time out. the staff was always wearing a mask. my cousin had a lot of fun going down the slide and the zip line for kids. with the price of admission it included almost everything except feeding the animals, horse riding, and apple launching. it was a very fun for a day out for her. the only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because my cousin got pushed by a kid down the hay and there was no staff around and the parent shrugged it off and she got scratched up a lot. and even though the staff was wearing masks it was not in forced for the customers to be wearing a mask. so just be aware of that when you come. read more

This is the worst "farm" ever. Let's start with when I got there the lady at the front told me my child was FREE....so that's how he clearly got in without a wrist band. Fast forward I see a little boy his age go on a ride and ask my son who barely talks if he wanted to go on, he got all excited. Then the worker said he has to be 36" tall but another lady comes and her daughter is under 36" ohhhh but she can go on cause she had a wrist band mean while she's the same age as my son(I know because I asked the mom) so why wasn't I told at the gate when I walked in that I had to pay for him to do these things because I would've left.... instead of getting to the ride just to be told I was supposed to be charged. (Well in my experience with customer service if you or your workers make a mistake then that's on you "you take the loss") So the worker told me to talk to the owner....let me tell you this lady is a straight up bitch. She gets nasty with me over this ride and tells me that I have to go pay $16 for a ride (one ride) or tell my toddler who is now screaming upset cause he doesn't understand why he can't go on that he's not aloud to go. But when I ask for a refund then she waves her hand at the worker saying "let him go on if that's what's gonna make him happy" in a nasty tone of voice. Like HOW DARE SHE....he's a toddler, she had to make a big deal over a ride when HER worker made a mistake. I feel bad for any child she has because she's a heartless asshole. I can see why she didn't want to give me a refund she clearly needs the money with how empty her "farm" is and all these negative reviews she's getting, clearly losing customers left and right.
