You wont find any bargains here but you will find a well stocked convenience store, and for this purpose it will do just fine.

The shop is also a good place to go for lunch and offers a good range of sandwiches and other snacks such as crisps and sweets. They offer a meal deal where you can get a sandwich, crisps and a drink all for £3. During exam period the shop stocks up on energy drinks, which I found myself helplessly becoming addicted to; and it was pretty cool that they reduced the cost of Relentless during the exam period to £1. The shop is a real convenience for students who cannot be bothered to venture out of the confines of Pollock Halls and even offers stationary and blocks of lined paper. They also sold fruit, which I don't imagine sold very well seeing as most people stole several pieces of fruit from the JMC canteen!

This is one of two Morrisons in the town but they support different areas of the town. There is a petrol station again like all morrisons has good and competative prices. This store has a dry cleaning service, pharmacy, instore bakers which always smells good as you pass. The other facilities include the instore butcher and cafe. The products are standard from their own basic range to their middle priced range and to the well known brands. They have weekly special offers on and these are usually very easy to find at the end of the aisles. The staff are friendly and helpful although there can be queues at the weekend. I do find the car park to be tight in places though so take your time.

Products are very reasonably priced and each week sees some different managers specials wither it be frozen food or fruit and vegetables. They have a great selection of dairy products and the yoghurts at 29pence are just delicious. Leaflets are sent out each week so you know in advance what households products will be on offer the following week. There are only 2 tills but ive never found that to be a problem. Sometimes a big tesco…read morecan be a bit daunting but this one is great if you need just a few things and has a corner shop feel to it. It has a cash machine outside which is handy. There's a chippie in the same row so you don't need to buy your juice etc from there, Tesco would be cheaper. It's open from 7am to 10pm 7 days. I like to collect Tesco points so it's great that I can get these here as well. The staff are friendly and helpful, parking spaces are plentiful and although it is a smaller shop, there is still a great selection of essentials to be had. Worth a visit if you are local.

Although it lacks a Petrol station facility. Inside it has a smaller more limited clothing and electronics departments than other stores. Although it still keeps in stock most of the normal products people require. They have a limited hot food counter and the normal cold meats, butchery, deli, bakery and fishmonger. My only big warning is to avoid like the plague during Celtic matches due to the close proximity to parkhead and that people seem to use the car park for access to the stadium.

(Surprise,surprise). This is a Tesco Extra which means its is HUGE yet this one does not have a separate, upper level like other Tesco Extras I have been in (St.Rollox for one). Instead the clothes/shoes in here are in a quite smallish section to the left as you walk towards the fruit/veg section. Also the electrical goods and other non-food/drink related products are in aisles to the right as you enter the building. This store is okay ~ nowt special. The only thing that makes this one a wee bit different from other Tesco Extras is in this one they have a few shelves full of Irish & American food products (mostly sweet things). Maybe other TE's have this too now..I couldn't say. Alongside this they have Asian/Japanese/African/Polish products also. One thing I do like about this TE is the amount of (frozen) vegetarian products/meals they sell compared to other supermarkets and also they're one of the few supermarkets I know that stock frozen yogurt! Woo! It's 24 hours, has a cafe, a 'Phone Shop' and a photo processing department. Apart from that it's just another Tesco. Overpriced in my humble opinion. Bah.

This is the the 'little sister' of the bigger town centre store. In saying this it is still a good…read moresized supermarket and ideal for the weekly shop. The store is bright and modern and there is ample parking places, including disabled and child and parent spaces. it is the main shop in a little shopping complex also including a chemist, a tanning studio and a chip shop as well as a popular Chinese take away. I like this shop, especialy if I am in a hurry, because it stocks a good cross section of products which, because the store is smaller, what you want can be eaiser to find. It also tends to be less busy than the other Cumbernauld store making it quicker to get what you need. There is also a filling station at this location and both are open 24hrs. The staff in both are helpfull and polite.

At most corner shops you expect to pay high prices and you come in and leave disappointed because you've been priced out of a purchase. The deals here, however, are outstanding and some of the offers can compete with some of the big chains. It might be little more than just a corner shop, but still a very good place to buy your groceries.
