This little place was a God send! We had just gotten into town for vacation and got a flat. We went to Ard's and they had us fixed in less than half an hour!! The staff is awesome! The young man who did our tire repair also was able to fix our jack that gotten stuck. We didn't know how we were going to get it out and he had it done in no time. I highly recommend this place. We were on a road trip vacation and picked up a nail in a tire and started losing air pressure pretty quick. We were lucky to find Ards. 10 minutes and $10 (really) we were one our way again. The staff were so nice and accommodating. No up- selling, just found the nail, pulled out the tiny sucker and patched the hole. And they even recommended a lunch spot with fresh oysters! read more

I can't believe I'm the first person to write a review for this local treasure. On three different occasions over the past few years, while visiting the area, we've needed "emergency" tire service; have had flats and were driving on our small, temporary spare. Each and every time we've showed up at Ard's, whether at closing time, in the rain, if they were busy, or whatever, the staff at Ard's has "jumped to" and fixed us up and got us going on our way about as fast as a pit crew at a Nascar race. They have repaired flats in minutes, sold us a new tire for a great price and, whatever they've done, they've done it with smiles on their faces and genuine, old time, small town customer service. Boy, do I wish the staff at our Big City tire store back home could take a lesson in customer relations from the folks at Ard's. So when you're in the St. George Island - Eastpoint - Apalachicola area and have tire needs, this is definitely the place to go. Oh, and if you do have to wait while your tire needs are being met, Lynn's Oysters, another local treasure and five star eating establishment, is right across the street.
