We would no longer be able to have the ceremony in the backyard under the gorgeous canopy. Needless to say, I was crushed. But Mr. Timmy and Chris, the wedding coordinator, gave me several options for where to have the ceremony. We decided on the neighboring tent and it was gorgeous! Absolutely perfect! The amenities of this wonderful place were awesome. I had the bridal suite for two days. The morning of my wedding, Chris brought me and my party freshly-picked flowers and a bottle of champagne, all in the midst of him, his crew, and Mr. and Mrs. Ellender running around tirelessly to set up for my wedding. Any question, big or small, was answered. They made sure my wedding was perfect, despite the weather that posed a threat to my special day. Judge Ellender made our ceremony so special and even danced with me at my wedding - which was and always will be such a special memory for me. Mrs. Ellender and her crew did an amazing job decorating and setting up. It all went off without a hitch. Mr. Ellender was up before sunrise to cook the food for my wedding, and it was absolutely delicious. My wedding was perfect thank to these lovely people and their crew. Grounds not maintained, owners/workers not friendly,…read morerained all day and the tents were leaking onto our tables and guests, we were told they provided glasses, silverware, few tablecloths, etc. and they did not. Cats roaming the property getting into our decorations. Staff unhelpful. Would not recommend hosting an event here.

Fortunately, we stumbled upon a pretty neat place with some live music to boot! The Jolly Inn has a kind, down-home Louisiana atmosphere. There are drunks, yes, but they're nice drunks. And you can never go wrong with a jukebox. The clincher for the 4-star rating, however, was that on Friday evenings the Jolly Inn has a "Cajun night" in the back hall that houses some great, lively Cajun music and food. It's fun for the whole family and cover is only $3. People young and old are there, and it's really a fun, wholesome atmosphere. Band starts playing around 6pm and ends just shy of 11pm. If you're lucky, Mr. Allie "Gator" will give you an 'honorary Cajun' certificate. He was married 39 years on the evening he played for us. Fun stuff.

The space became overly warm with all the people and no one seemed to know how to have the A/C adjusted. I was just a guest of the wedding and it was a beautiful occasion. Perfect for an intimate setting. I wish I could gauge exactly how many people were in attendance, maybe you can judge from the photos. I'm glad I was able to discover this jewel of a spot. On a big day you shouldn't stress someone who paid you their money! i dealt with a miscarriage last year and this was my first shower and they put a DAMPER on everyone's day by being rude and rushing us out of the venue!
