There should not be a break in period. As I wear orthotics, it's hard for me to find perfect fitting shoes. I have many different brands including Dacks, Allen Edmonds, Church, and even Crockett Jones. The Loake Laxford that I bought fit like a glove. They are classic and stylish. Some of the heeled sandals have crazy tight straps that are awkwardly placed (quite forward on the foot so its flattening and squishing the toes) and it just kills to wear them.
