I sent my daughter here in 2013. I've been wanting to leave a review of her experience…read more 1. She was one of just a few girls for the entire school and they did nothing to make a girl feel safe or important. 2. On several occasions she was harassed by other students. In one case a student disagreed with her point on a definition and the conversation got heated to the point my daughter felt threatened and left the class, the yelling student followed her out of class and down the hall yelling at her. He was unhinged. 3. Another student would follow her home and try and get in her apartment building. I flew out there and talked with the school about this student and they did nothing so I ended having to confirm the boy myself. It did not feel safe at all so after just 2 quarters we brought her home. It is NOT a place I'd send a daughter. No consideration at all from staff, no help and just a very unprofessional place overall. Total loss was 40k for those 2 quarters. Not a fan at all of hew the safety of my daughter was just blown off.

There are so many reasons why I'm giving this school 1 star. I attended IPR back in 2007 and only…read morelast 3 quarters. It was an awful experience for me. To make it easy on all of us I'll just make a list of why this school should not be attended. CliffNotes: This school is a joke. 1) The staff is incredibly unprofessional. I had many experiences where the teachers or administrators acted unprofessionally. The first experience was with the administration not charging me for a class and then putting a hold on my account. When I asked why there was a hold the woman, literally not figuratively, yelled at me that I hadn't paid for a class and that I knew that. I didn't. Then she wanted over $1000 right then like I had that much money in my backpack or something. Then it was a teacher who publically shamed me and called me a liar in front of an entire classroom of students and allowed them to debate whether or not I was telling the truth of turning a paper in. I did turn in the paper and his TA even admitted after the fact that he deleted my emailed paper because he didn't like my boyfriend. Did I get an apology? No, I did not. Then, because those experiences weren't enough, another administrator would not excuse me from classes for a medical issue I had because my doctor who was in a different state couldn't write me an excuse or diagnoses. I explained to her many times about what was going on and why I couldn't get those for her and she said that there was nothing she could do then. She offered no alternatives or help in any way. 2) If you're a girl you better have tough skin. Not all the male staff here is misogynist but enough are that they let the male students treat the female students like shit and do nothing about it. You will be put into lose-lose situations all the time where you have to debate whether or not you should stand up for yourself or let it go. It's very uncomfortable all the time because you never know when something is going to happen or how you should handle it when it does. What I'm talking about is just what happens in the school during school hours. What happens after school hours is even worse. The guys are on every girl there and when the girl doesn't reciprocate feelings or whatever the guy is looking for then he and his friends talk shit about her and make her time at the school even shittier. Had I been a guy I'm 100% sure that these uncomfortable situations would not have happened. It is really sad that in this day and age this type of behavior, "boys will be boys", is tolerated. It's disgusting and IPR should be ashamed. 3) You will get a useless degree and they will lie to you about it. When I went to my open house they loved to talk about the statistics of past students having jobs after going to IPR. What they didn't inform me or my parents is that the stats they were giving us were not the number of people working in the field of their degree but just having any job. That means that if a past student was now working at McDonald's they included that in the stats. Your degree is going to be worthless. Out of the few friends I still keep in touch with only 2 work in the music industry doing live sound. None of my other friends or even just random people who went to IPR that I follow on social media are using their degree. Most people I know found jobs in AV, working at Guitar Center, construction or went back to school to get a real degree. This school is the biggest waste of money. 4) Bring drug money. If you do drugs feel free to snort your cocaine off any surface at the school. I watched plenty of students do it and even heard of teachers doing it too.
