Specious room, clean shower with good water pressure, comfy bed, modern looking, free wifi, cold air conditioning, rooftop breakfast area, helpful front desk staff, and very clean overall hotel. German efficiency for sure. The hotel is in more of a neighborhood area which we really liked as there were many restaurants, retail shops, coffee shops, and a beer hall all within walking distance. There was a Rewe right across the street where we bought water, fruits, and snacks to keep in our room along with a coffee and pastry place near it. There is also a U-Bahn train station within a 5-10 minute walk with more shops and places to eat along the way, and a bus stop right near the hotel entrance which we used and was very convenient. It seems like more of a boutique hotel so don't expect all the bells and whistles of the larger name brands, but it does more than enough to accommodate for a very nice stay with reasonable pricing.

Staff is friendly and helpful and put up with my not-very-good German. Very easy to get to (one block from the Anhalter Bahnhof U/S Bahn station) and close to many things of interest, including Potsdamer Platz, and a Lidl just around the corner in case you want to stock your room fridge. Amazing breakfast buffet (das Frühstück) was included in my room rate. Conference/meeting facilities were outstanding. Loads of bottled water (still and sparkling) was readily available during meetings. 'Kaffee und Kuchen' offerings were delicious and ready whenever we took a break. I extended my work stay to be able to visit Christmas markets. I thought about moving to different hotel to get to know another part of the city. But the room rate at Relexa made it too good of a deal to pass up.

The internet in the lobby is free and fast, so cozy up in the nook by the front door if you have some work to do. The staff is a little gruff when you try to have meals at odd times, but that's to be expected. Great breakfast buffet, and there are just endless pastries and fish to choose from. Rooms are on the smaller side, but I have no comparison point with other Berlin hotels.

All of my interactions with the staff were very pleasant, but the hotel itself is horrible. The pictures of the rooms are very misleading. Perhaps that's what the rooms looked like when the hotel opened, but now the rooms are worn, dated, and depressing. They are, however kept clean. The walls of the entrance halls need to be repaired and getting into the elevator in the "annex" reminded me of some really trashy places friends lived on the Lower East Side of NYC. Unfortunately, the design of the room is tragic. The bathroom isn't really separated from the sleeping/working area, so my shy friend and I had to take turns stepping outside into the rundown hall while the other made use of the facilities...The frosted glass shower door serves as a type of door for the bathroom, but nope... just a bad idea. The location is excellent for a more "German" experience in Berlin even thought it's right in the middle of the Vietnamese restaurant and Chinese massage (legit!!!!!) area. There are many lovely cafes and restaurants that aren't hipster magnets near the hotel. For the same price, I could have stayed in a "gemuetlich" (comfy) small pension that had some character. Instead I felt as though I trapped in some Ikea knock-off misadventure. But the staff was friendly ;-)

Only complaint was that there was no decaf coffee, and it gets pretty crowded if you don't go early. But tons of options - muesli of various kinds, many kinds of pastries, bread, plus there's fruit, all kinds of sliced meat, and there are mini pancakes, hard boiled eggs, etc. almost anything you can think of for a German breakfast. Accommodations - 4 stars. Quiet room, comfortable bed, temperature control. The shower is small, and the towels weren't great, but overall it was fine. Clean, they give you a kettle and some tea bags (and powdered coffee if you drink it). There's an Apotheke and a small grocery store about a block away. Close to the subway and several bus lines.

We'd expected the typically friendly Novotel…read moreservice but were surprised by the newness of the building (evidently it'd been renovated) and the spaciousness of our standard room with modern bath and two chairs - too often doubles only have one chair. The floor-to-ceiling windows were nice, even if the view of the office building on the other side of the street wasn't so special. A neat touch was the semi-hidden space to hang up our clothes, so much more practical than big closets (see photo). Wifi was fine both in the room and in the lobby and of course free (hotels seemed now to have learned not to charge for wifi). Since we're no fans of buffets and since our very reasonable rates didn't include breakfast, we didn't have the chance to eat in the friendly lobby/breakfast room/bar combination area. As others have mentioned, this Novotel is centrally located not far from two of the main plazas: Potsdamer and Alexander. What we realized later was that the address, Fischerinsel, is exactly accurate: the hotel is really on an island as we can testify having walked over bridges in both directions. And without crossing any bridges you can visit northern part of the island, which appropriately enough is called Museuminsel and has UNESCO World Heritage status.

I just came here for the first time with a group of friends and my hubby for a drink. We went strange up to the bar. Which that in the middle floor of the building. It calls One Lounge, it was a really fancy place. I like how the bar look. They got this movie theme all over the place. Same like at the reception downstair, which made the place more interesting, really cool. We went to the back side of the bar. Which there was open air seats around. The view was amazing. And we were here around the sunset time, having a drink on the top of the city Berlin, that was one of the kind experience. Speaking about the drinks. They got many different drinks on the menu, it ìs better to check it out on their site or check it out in the bar. For the gin lover, this is a great place as well, they got a extra menu just for gin. And don't forget to ask for it. I did find it a bit pricey though. I was in the mood for some hot coffee. The coffee was not bad. And the price was the same like a regular coffee shop. My friends also order different drinks, some are good. Some just so so. But we were happy with view and we had a great time here. At night, it got a bit cold, we moved inside the bar and continued out talked. There were some interesting books on the table, Which free to read. Fantanic! Overall I like this place quite a lot, I am sure that I will visit it again.
