As my wife talked with the buyer, signor Baracchi sat down and, uninvited, went to flip through a stack of paintings. Before I could stop him, he knocked a brass sculpture into an oil painting, causing an estimated 1,000 euros damage. There was no apology given, nor offer of compensation for the damage. Subsequent attempts to receive at least partial compensation were fruitless.

The cheapest thing I could find during these Italian July sales was literally €30 and bad quality. The higher-quality things are really expensive, like ridiculously expensive. I understand that it is vintage and some of the things are designer, but it really should be a little Less. Very hip Decour but the organization of the story itself is bad. They organized by color, not by style or size. Quite inconvenient. If I had more money, I would suppose I would like this better, as the higher-quality things cost more money. Depending on what you have and what your expectations are, it can be a great experience to change up your wardrobe "on the cheap" and "recycle" clothes without being wasteful. I heard about Bivio sometime ago, learning that the founder is from the US and conceptualized Bivio to mimic the stores I mentioned earlier in Milan. Customers are able to book buying appointments in advance (for Autumn/Winter this year, they opened up slots end of August, and they got booked immediately...). I wanted to see how the experience compared to stores back in the states, so I made appointments here and at the Gian Giacomo Mora spot... ...unfortunately, I was not impressed. I was quite disappointed that it was like every other thrift store in Milan (except maybe Humana Vintage...) in that the inventory was mostly "mid-to-high" designer and retail prices...that is not thrift anymore, that's ripping off customers. I also did not have success with selling. My items were "too light" for winter, even though I had a number of sweaters? Perhaps I should note I tend to run warm, and don't have many thick, heavy winter garments that the Italians wear in layers once winter hits! For me, a sweater is enough even at 10 degrees Celcius or 50 degress farenheit! For me, I'll pass on Bivio, and take advantage of thrifting in the States.

Timing has to be lucky. Unfortunately, the men's selection is not very good. For women, if you're a shopper, Bivio 4 and Bivio 12 can be gold mines.
