Horrible gas station. Pumps do not work at all. I was in a rush to get to a late night appointment so i stopped at the gas station since it was nearest to me. I couldn't get in because of the clubs super long line so i went around. People were just parked at the pumps playing music and not pumping gas. So i waited until the only person actually pumping gas left. My final straw was when the pump took so long to fill my car up. I was there for over 5 minutes. ARCO is one of my favorite gas stations because of the price. This ARCO is fairly large and they don't have LONG gas lines like in La Canada. Payment: debit card if you pay at the pump. My only complaint about this ARCO is that they don't have enough paper towels. I like to use their window cleaners, but they don't stock enough paper towels. This place is a diamond in the rough... kinda. We stopped by here to use the restroom and get some coffee for the drive home after bar hopping. The first thing I noticed is that this neighborhood is seedy. But the gas station was well lit, and actually pretty clean, so in we went. They have a one-man restroom here, but we didn't have to wait long. The rest of the store was in order, and I grabbed a starbucks double-shot to drink. The patrons here were actually nice people, and the customer service wasn't bad. The restroom itself was also clean. I've had one bad experience here before, some junkie shooting up in the restroom tried getting confrontational with me. Effing hilarious. Probably the only arco I've seen with more than 2 people working inside. But what's funny is that the none of the people working are doing anything. I usually go around noonish on weekdays to avoid the hustle and bustle and seriously the ladies the work here are always just chilling. They are also not too nice when they are working as well. I was surprised to find a gas station in the city that's comparable in price to the Arco by my house in the suburbs. Also quite surprised that the station had all their squeegees out next to their gas pumps. Now you might find it weird of me to be caught off-guard because of this, but I've found several other Arco's around LA that would hide their squeegees behind the pay counters... One I visited a while ago required your ID before they'd lend you one. A mini mart is being built right now, so I'm not sure if this is a new station or just remodeling. Went there today for the first time because they were conveniently located along my route, but that won't happen again... Drove up to a pump that appeared to be fine, but when I went inside to pay for the gas I was told the pump was not working. Um, first of all, normally when that happens gas station employees don't expect their customers magically to know this fact, put plastic over the gas pump handle or alert customers in some other way that they should move to a different pump. Anyway, the clerk told me I could use two other pumps--I looked for the numbers he mentioned and could not see them. When I said this to him, he said exactly nothing. Gee, buddy, you think it might have been a good idea to say "Number 2 is off to the left" or given your customer the slightest clue where the freaking pump you are directing her to use is located? No? OK, I'll try again...the pump in front of the one where my car is parked is empty, let me ask about that one. "Well, does number--" "That pump is not working, honey." OK, first of all, I heard you the first time. Secondly, kindly do not call me honey when I am a total stranger to you. Thirdly, kindly do not interrupt your customer when she is asking a polite question. "Does number 9 work?" "No, that does not work either." OK then--what kind of professional gas station has numerous gas pumps that do not work, makes no effort to inform customers of the situation before they park the car, and is rude to customers while they are at it? The service here sucks, I accidentally said my station number wrong and I went back to ask them to change it to the right spot that my car was in and they said they couldn't do it. So I went back to my car and move to the spot they charge me in, unfortunately a car was there so I went back again because the car that I was supposedly should have gone paid for that station and I told them that the person who paid the same station that I accidentally put. So my thoughts was why didn't the cashier use the person's money to charge me in that old spot I was in or give my money back. Unfortunately, I have to pay again. Such a bad service. I come to this gas station frequently and have not had any issues until today. I used pump #4 and there must've been a leak in the hose near the nozzle, because as i was filling up my tank, gas started spilling down the side of my car. I went to tell a cashier, for safety purposes, and they didn't seem to care. Go there for the low priced gas, but steer clear of pump #4. read more

Not that Am/Pm is known for quality or service. But I was gonna grab a late night snack (hot dog or burrito) from their case and the employee literally told me he was throwing it out so I couldn't have it. And then proceeded to throw out like 10 hot dogs, 6 burritos and 4 fish sandwiches right in front of me. Now I understand not selling stuff if it's been sitting out forever or is past its sell time. But it seemed like a horrible waste. He could've just offered it to me for free. Or offered it to the many homeless people that usually congregate outside. Really bad customer service. As for me that worked at a gas station when I was young, the attendants doesn't care about the guests. They are exploiting the fact that their gas station is cheap and the station area is expansive. They don't care. Their music is on only one genre(my heritage is Filipino). I end up on this gas station for they have a Chase Bank ATM. Stating this, I'd rather gas up in that unspectacular gas station on Melrose and Alexandria. The customer service sucks! The staff is in desire need of a customer service course. They are unfriendly and rude. A simple hello will do, especially when you're at the register to pay. I walked to the register to pay for gas and other items, and stood behind a customer needing assistance over something. The cashier turned to Edna and asked her to take care of him. I witnessed her dry and uninvolved behavior torward this man. There was no courteous greeting nor effort to be helpful, instead her behavior was more of being bothered by the customer. She mumbled a question and could barely be heard. I was thinking I was glad I wasn't him. After she was done with him, she picked up my items and scanned and charged me, without even a hello, not a word. I know this is only a gas station, but nonetheless, I'm spending my money there. This place is very unfriendly and I'm not going back. If the staff is bothered with customers walking into the store to buy, which in turn pays for their salary, they shouldn't work there. So I am standing here writing this review about Arco here on the corner of Vermont and Santa Monica. I am here during a shift change. This means I went into the station and paid cash for gas. I went to the pump and I am now looking at the Please Wait sign on the pump. I can't leave since all ready paid. They can give me my money back since their system is shut down . I must stand here and wait ten to twenty minutes for the gas to flow. Beware of the shift change at this station you will likely be left stranded at an unfortunate hour of the evening.
