The Metropolitan Community Churches denomination is known as one that originated for the LGBT community, but being a different-gender-loving (straight) woman who is a steadfast LGBT ally, I feel right at home in this church. There are special things happening at St. Johns -- lives are being transformed here all of the time. There is an 845am service that is more traditional in style, and the 11am service is contemporary worship. Ethnically, St, Johns is a beautiful mix of races and backgrounds. I was raised Roman Catholic, and I have gotten to know and understand more about the backgrounds of my fellow members who come from Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Jehovah Witness, and other religious backgrounds. The sincerity with which the deacons, pastors, and friends at St. Johns pray for and with me/us is something that has completely transformed my outlook on christian spirituality. The place reeks of LOVE, and there is always someone willing to pray with you and guide you in a positive direction. Bible study group on Tuesday is always informational and inspirational. I can't say enough about how great this church is.

I just wandered in, looked at some selections from local artists, listened to some blue grass, and grabbed a pulled pork sandwich. There was so planning, I kept smelling food, turned left, and there was a festival in the streets. I. Love. That. It is so charming and welcoming. No cover charge to get in, a saxophone player jamming out to Whitney Houston on his speakers, BBQ everywhere, local artists, and a stage with wonderful people performing blue grass. I was lucky to have stumbled upon it, and it just makes me like Raleigh more.

It's not my favorite part, probably because it's too new, corporate, fancy, and un-Carolinian. But it is a nice sight to see and is a lot more modern than you would imagine for this historical region, the Triangle.

It's just a couple of blocks from the State Capital and the History Museum. Also great to just walk around all the historic well marked streets in downtown Raleigh. We parked in the covered garage adjacent to the Supreme Court but there is parking all over it seemed. In my case, I'm co-authoring a novel. If they can only research local events, they will refer you to who can help you research your non local events!

They provide a fun, safe, welcoming environment for every baby and their parent. The content is similar across wake county story times but the delivery by the librarians at this location is more genuine and kind in their interactions. We look forward to coming here every week!

We visited this library at the end of October for their "boo books" driveby Halloween festivity…read more My kids dressed up and we walked into the library entrance where they had a setup for contact less treat bags. While we were there, I noticed that the doors had a table in front of them with a sign that said employee only. They had all books set up for pickup on a shelf in the entryway labeled with names. We signed up for a kids craft basket raffle and I got an email that my middle child won! Today we popped back in to pick it up and the employees were so friendly and warming that it made my son feel so good. The library is kinda hidden near the middle of town on what looks like a large house converted into a library, by thats just my assumption. They have plenty of parking and don't seem to be terribly busy currently. I cant wait to go visit when we can enter the library to get the full experience!

They sit at the circulation desk and talk and gossip and are incredibly inconsiderate of patrons who are trying to get work done. What happened to libraries being peaceful places? I'm only giving it 2 stars because the level of noise makes it easier to tutor here. We can make as much noise as we want without concern. It's just tough when we need to concentrate.
